Chapter 81 - Chapter 81: The Injustice League

The next day.

Hill woke from her sleep and lazily stretched.

It had been a long time since she had slept so comfortably.

Seeing the sun already sinking in the west, she knew—it was already afternoon.

She carefully scanned her surroundings, then finally gathered the courage to leave the bedroom.

She walked along the wooden tatami corridor.

Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, she looked out at the lawn.

A burly man and a small boy were floating above the garden.

The man was Android 16, Renjie's creation.

The child was Clark Kent, the orphan Renjie had adopted.

Android 16 was guiding this "young god" in how to precisely control his power.

Hill hurried her steps.

Sensing her presence, the two immediately withdrew and moved to another area.

This duplex villa was enormous—

the largest she had ever seen.

Even on a global scale, there were few residences this vast.

From her years of experience, Hill was certain:

There had to be an underground laboratory beneath this villa.

And the man called Renjie was probably inside it.

As she passed the open kitchen,

she noticed a note stuck to the refrigerator—

It said lunch had been left for her.

Hill ignored it.

Her goal had never changed.

The underground laboratory.

Footsteps echoed down the stairs.

Someone had entered his lab.

Renjie chose to ignore it.

He was still working with Android 21, developing a new type of armor.

Stronger defensive plating.

A cloak that could absorb energy.

A psychic field that isolated all mental interference.

The energy core of this armor—

was the Space Stone.

It could supply the wearer with endless spatial energy.

The production process went smoothly.

Vibranium.

Adamantium.

Uru metal.

Each had its strengths—and together they complemented one another.

The value of this armor was now immeasurable.

It was enough to attract the covetous eyes of cosmic overlords.

The suit was jet black, paired with a flowing black cape.

Its form-fitting design ensured it would never burden the wearer in battle.

Renjie named it—

"Infinity Armor."

The Space Stone was only the beginning.

Hill entered the underground laboratory.

The sight before her stole her breath.

Inside one transparent display case after another—

stood different suits of armor.

The first: "Creator Armor."

The display piece: "Savitar Armor."

The prototype: "Anti-Monitor Armor."

The overwhelming visual impact of these three suits made the seasoned agent's face turn pale.

"Incredible… these are all your creations?"

Hill stepped forward in awe.

"More or less…"

Renjie replied casually.

His attention never left the armor before him.

"Why… did you save me?"

Hill asked softly, standing behind him.

"Does saving a dying stray cat need a reason?"

Renjie laughed lightly.

He ordered Android 21 to seal all the armors away.

Now was not the time for them to see the world.

"This doesn't feel like your usual style,"

Hill mocked faintly, watching the display cases sink.

She gathered her courage and asked again,

"What do you plan to use these armors for?"

She couldn't understand.

With so many powerful androids,

why was this man still chasing even greater power?

Renjie gestured for her to sit.

He lay back on the sofa, pulled two cans of iced coffee from a portable fridge, and tossed one to her.

He took a sip, enjoying the chill.

After a moment, he smiled.

"I've always had a dream."

"To gather all the gifted beings in the world."

"No matter skin color. No matter bloodline."

"To build the strongest team of heroes."

"I called it—the Justice League."

"But this world… isn't as simple as I imagined."

"People want heroes because heroes bring stability."

"The awakened are few. Most people don't want the truth—

and don't need it."

"Even if they live in a world full of lies…"

"As long as their lives keep getting better, that's enough."

"So I changed the name."

"To the Injustice League."

"An alliance of enforcers who maintain justice—by unconventional means."

Renjie spoke calmly.

A virtual screen appeared before Maria Hill.

It displayed the names he intended to recruit.

Venom.

Deadpool.

Doctor Doom.

Captain Marvel.

Android 16.

Android 18.

Supreme Little Superman.

Each name made Hill's heart sink.

This force—

if united—could overturn the entire world.

"Does this world really need such a team?"

Hill asked, conflicted.

"You say it doesn't?"

Renjie countered.

"Then what is Nick Fury's Avengers Initiative?"

He opened S.H.I.E.L.D.'s internal network.

The candidate list appeared.

Captain America.

Iron Man.

The Incredible Hulk.

Thor.

Black Widow.

Hawkeye.

Hill fell silent.

Western hypocrisy looked absurd in Eastern eyes—

there was no room left to argue.

"Earth is nothing but dust in the universe."

"Sooner or later, alien warships will invade."

"You think a shield-wielding propaganda clown can destroy a battleship?"

Renjie sneered.

He could mass-produce soldiers like Captain America right now.

But against real firepower—

they were nothing.

Only true power could deter the greedy forces of the cosmos.

And that—

was exactly what he was building.
