I didn't remember falling asleep, nor did I know how long I had been out. All I knew was the heat, the pain, the need that rushed through my veins, and woke me with a violent cry that called for my Alpha.
Kade was there immediately, his cold hand on my forehead a balm against the raging fever of my heat.
"It's okay Riley, I'm here." He whispered as he rolled me onto my stomach and used a pillow to raise my hips. I gasped as I felt his cold fingers slick with oil that smelled of herbs and sandalwood circle my entrance, teasing the sensitive skin before slowly sliding a finger inside.
I moaned into the pillow as I pushed back against his hand, wanting more, needing more.
"Just relax Riley. I will help ease the pain."
I cried out as he added a third finger, scissoring them and stretching me to accommodate him. As he moved his fingers expertly he hit a spot inside me that made me gasp and my vision fade at the edges. "Please Kade. Now. I need you now." I whimpered as I thrust against his fingers that were still inside me.
"As you wish." He whispered by my ear as he buried his face into my neck and positioned himself behind me. I felt his thick length as it pressed against my entrance. "Are you ready for me?"
"Yes." I breathed as I braced myself for the breach.
He entered me with one slow, smooth thrust, burying himself to the hilt. I cried out at the sudden fullness, the mix of pain and pleasure so intense it stole my breath from my lips.
"Are you alright?" He asked, his voice strained with the effort of holding still so that my body could adjust the the foreign feeling.
"I'm ok." I moaned, pushing back against him. "kade please move."
He needed no further encouragement.
He pulled back almost all the way out and then pushed back in with a powerful thrust that made me see stars. He set a hard and fast pace that hit that spot inside me over and over again until I was a writhing moaning mess beneath him. I was so close to the edge and he could feel it.
"Not yet." He commanded as he nuzzled my neck, and the heat of my fevered skin met the coolness of his. "When I mark you, you will come for me."
He increased his pace, driving into me harder and deeper. The fire of my heat built to an inferno, the pleasure and the pain coiling in my stomach, tightening with every thrust. I could feel his own need, a thrumming energy that pulsed through the bond, a mirror to my own desperate want.
"Now, Riley. Come for me now." He growled as he sunk his fangs into the tender flesh of my neck.
I screamed as the pain of the bite mixed with the most intense pleasure I had ever felt. The world went white as wave after wave of my orgasm washed over me, leaving me gasping and shuddering beneath him. I felt him still as he found his own release, his cool seed filling me, a stark contrast to the heat of my body.
"You are mine now Riley, and soon I will be yours." Kade whispered as he gently pulled out and wrapped me in his strong arms.
As I lay there in the vampire's grasp I felt a deep peace and feeling of safety that I had never experienced before. Is this what it meant to be claimed by a fated mate I wondered.
I snuggled closer to that hard cool chest and heard the deep rumble of Kade's satisfied chuckle. "Rest now my little wolf. I will keep watch over you."
"I don't have a wolf." I mumbled as my eyes fluttered closed and I let sleep pull me down into it's dark embrace as Kade traced patterns on my heated skin with his cool fingers.
This cycle of heat, claiming, and sleep continued for another ten days. By day seven I had started to beg for my body to stop as the tremors of both pain and pleasure became too much as they continued to rip through me.
Kade stayed there for every moment of it. He was attentive and made sure I was given everything I needed while it felt like my body was waging war on me.
Finally when I opened my eyes on day thirteen I could feel the difference. The heat fever had finally broke and my head was clear for the first time in weeks. "Kade?" I whispered as I felt around on the bed to find nothing but empty air.
"I am here." I heard his velvet baritone voice reply from across the room.
I attempted to sit up and gasped as I felt sharp pain course through my entire body.
"Take it slow Riley. You will be very sore for the next few days." I watched as Kade came over and sat beside me on the bed. He winced as he saw the bruises the were blooming on my skin. "I'm sorry. I may have been a little too rough with you. I forget that you are still mostly human."
I shook my head in response. "You have nothing to be sorry about. You took care of me and protected me while I was helpless." I shifted to a sitting position and winced as my lower body throbbed in pain.
As the memories of the last two weeks crashed down on me I subconsciously moved my hand to my neck where I felt the raised scar of the claiming bite. As my fingers grazed over it I could feel the response from the bond and the sharp intake of breath from the vampire that sat beside me.
"You can feel that?" I questioned as my fingers stroked the mark again and I watched as Kade's eyes filled with a deep possessive hunger.
"Careful little wolf." He growled as a small smile tugged at his lips.
I felt a mischievous smile spread across my face as I just discovered a new toy I could play with. Kade however knew exactly what I was thinking and took my wrist before planting a lingering kiss on my lips. "I don't think your body is ready for another round so soon." He rumbled before he pulled away and tugged on the bottom of his shirt to straighten it.
It was then when I heard a soft knock at the bedroom door right before Sebastian entered. "Oh good, the young Lord is awake. I figured you could use some food after, well, an eventful two weeks."
"Young Lord?" I questioned as Sebastian rolled a cart over that was laden with food as he gave me a knowing smile.
"Of course. You are the mate of the Lord of the house which also grants you the same title."
I did not know what to think of that and just nodded as my eyes drifted over to the rare steak and other cooked meats that were heaped on a plate for me. I dug into the food as my stomach gave a loud growl.
"I also have a message for you My Lord. It was delivered early this morning." I watched as Sebastian handed a black envelope to Kade.
He took the envelope from his butler with a "Thank You Sebastian." before he broke the gold seal and took out the cream coloured card.
I watched as his face hardened as he read the contents of the card.
"Is something wrong?" I asked between bites of food.
"It looks like we are going to have some guests soon." Kade stated as he handed the card back to Sebastian. "Have the council room and some guest rooms prepared for tomorrow night." He instructed Sebastian.
"What kind of guests?" My brow furrowed as I felt worry and anger through the bond.
"It looks like the council will be arriving to asses my new mate."
