Chapter 70 - 70

70: Chapter 70 The Little Girl in Distress(Well, the author has almost forgotten this adventure, so I can only follow the plot.I'll just give a brief overview here.Next, we'll enter the Grand Line.)

On another warship, a fat, burly officer was furious: "What have you all done?So many of you let a little girl escape!Don't you know she's connected to the keel I'm looking for? What kind of idiots are you?" He then looked into the shadows and shouted, "Eric!"

At that moment, a bespectacled man emerged from the shadows: "I've been here all along." The fat officer ordered Eric, "We finally found a clue to the elixir of immortality; we absolutely cannot let her escape.Go and rendezvous with the fleet; you must find a way to bring her back."

The man called Eric said calmly, "Excuse my bluntness, but it seems our contract doesn't include finding missing persons."

"I don't care how much more you want in compensation.I hired you specifically to handle this kind of situation. You must be very upset about losing this lead, right?Alright, hurry up and go." The fat officer said with a sly grin."Yes, Admiral Nelson Roy (hereafter referred to as the fat officer)."

After a night of raging winds and rain, the sea finally calmed down. The crew of the Going Merry went about their business.Usopp, looking around with his binoculars, inadvertently spotted a large flock of birds circling something in the distance.Thinking it was a big fish, Usopp told them what he'd seen.Sanji, hearing this, said, "Luffy, let's get lunch ready!" Luffy reluctantly stretched out his arm and scooped the thing up.Sanji, watching the "fish" getting closer, asked in alarm, "Hey Luffy, why did you stop?" Seeing the "fish" getting even closer, Sanji hurriedly dodged, but poor Zoro, who was sleeping beside him, was knocked into the sea."Sorry, Zoro (⊙ˍ⊙)"

"I'm going to kill that bastard!(╬▔皿▔)╯", Zoro vowed again as he was pulled up.But when the others saw the real thing, they realized it wasn't a fish at all, but a pretty little girl."What? It's not a fish after all.I thought I was going to have a big lunch," Usopp said disappointedly.Luffy, seeing the little girl, remembered what they were about to encounter."It smells so good! What's that smell?" The little girl, who had been unconscious for a long time, suddenly sat up and bumped hard into Usopp's chin as he was wiping her forehead."Ouch!" the little girl cried, clutching her forehead."You're awake! You're much more energetic than I expected. Is anything hurting?" Nami said, looking at the awakened girl.Sanji also spoke up, "You must be hungry.I'm making you some soup."

The little girl looked around, thinking she had finally escaped the Navy's pursuit, but the next few words plunged her back into despair.Nami continued, "Did you get shipwrecked? You almost died! What's your name?" The little girl retorted defiantly, "You should introduce yourself before asking me!"

Nami chuckled and began introducing the people on the ship to the little girl: "That's true.My name is Nami, the one cooking soup in the kitchen is Sanji, he looks fierce, and the one wearing a bellyband is Zoro."

Zoro then spoke up, clearly annoyed: "Stop talking nonsense."

Nami continued, "The girl sitting next to Zoro is Kaguina, then the one lying there is Usopp, the pink-haired one is Coby, and."

Luffy chimed in, "My name is Luffy, and I'm the captain of this pirate ship."

The little girl was stunned for a moment, then shouted in surprise, "Pirates!" Luffy pretended not to see the girl's surprise and continued, "We're going to the Grand Line."

When Nami asked what was wrong with the strange girl, Zoro asked, "What should we do with this girl?" Luffy suggested taking her to the nearest town so she could find a Marine there to help her get home.

The little girl, still reeling from the shock, was filled with despair: "Why?I just escaped one danger only to fall into another." She was gripped by deep self-doubt."I finally escaped from the Marines, how could I be so unlucky as to be rescued by a pirate ship? What a joke!" Just then, her stomach growled."I'd better eat something first," she thought.Dazed, she walked towards the refrigerator, accidentally triggering a trap.Just as it was about to fall on her, she screamed in terror, "That's right! Why would Sanji put something so dangerous in the kitchen?" Just as the little girl clutched her stomach. As she trembled with fear, a voice came from behind her, and the kitchen light came on."Of course, it's to prevent some rubber bastard from stealing food. But it seems this trap is useless against you," Sanji said as he walked in.When Sanji got closer, he saw the little girl staring at him pitifully."Stealing food?Absolutely not!I, Luffy, would never do such a thing!" The little girl turned around and realized that the one blocking the trap was none other than Luffy, the captain of the pirate ship.Sanji sighed and continued to question her, "Then what are you doing here in the middle of the night instead of sleeping?"

"Of course.of course I came to see how this little girl is doing (○゚ε゚○)," Luffy put down the trap he was holding, pointing at the little girl with a guilty look."Really," Sanji shook his head helplessly, took out ingredients from the refrigerator, and made a sumptuous meal.Luffy's eyes lit up, and he wolfed down the food, while the little girl just watched quietly without touching it."What's wrong?Aren't you going to eat?" Sanji turned his head and asked. The little girl also turned her head away defiantly, but unfortunately, the rumbling of her stomach betrayed her."You didn't eat during the day either, why are you holding back?I didn't poison you."The little girl stubbornly shook her head again.Sanji, seeing her stubbornness, spoke once more: "If you keep standing there, he'll eat all yours too!"

Luffy playfully reached out, pretending to snatch the little girl's soup. The little girl couldn't resist any longer, grabbing the bowl from Luffy's hand and gulping it down."It's so delicious!" she exclaimed. The girl, who had been keeping a straight face, finally smiled.Nami's voice came from the doorway: "Finally smiling! You were scared because you heard we're pirates, right? But it's normal to react like that to pirates in this era." The little girl said suspiciously, "You're not going to sell me off, are you?" Usopp immediately retorted that it was impossible.Zoro, standing nearby, said, "Who told you to look so scary?" Usopp walked speechlessly to Zoro's side, grabbed Zoro's face, and complained, "You dare say that with that face of yours?" Zoro immediately flew into a rage.

Zoro punched Usopp, while Luffy and the others laughed heartily.Watching this joyful scene, the little girl realized that this pirate ship seemed different from what she had imagined.
