Chapter 7 - First Human Kill (part2)

I look up at the leader as I step over the body of the bandit that I just killed, there is a part of me that feels bad for taking another humans life but if I left him alive he would have tried to kill me, but I guess since he was weaker then the bear I don't really have anything to say, since in my old world it was survival of the fittest so even there I was prepared to take another persons life.

"you...what are you? how can you crush a human head as if it was a rotten fruit?" The bandit leader said clearly surprised

"simple If he was weak enough to be caught he is weak enough to be crushed" I say with a smirk on my lips

I do wonder why I knew that he was weak enough to be crushed so easily but it's probably from my perception stat that I could tell he was weaker then a human from my old world, meaning he was far weaker then the bear that could withstand my punches and kicks, at that moment I remembered that I need a new weapon especially one that can best make use of my high strength stat, as I'm thinking that I notice that the bandit leader has a sturdy looking axe.

"I was never fond of fighting with axes because they are too brutish but since I now have a high strength stat I guess it would suit me" I think to myself, that is when a wide grin spreads across my lips and I couldn't help it.

suddenly I notice that one of the "villagers" wearing a hood that is covering there face seems to be trying to signal something, at that moment a arrow comes flying at me from beside me I barely have the time to dodge it but clearly I should take care of the archers first to make this a bit more easy.

at that thought I dash towards the archer that just shot at me, and in the matter of seconds I was upon them and with a swift punch to the stomach I punched strait thru there armour and gripped there spine, It was at that moment I realised how broken my strength was.

as I turn to the next archer the body of the previous archer slides free of my arm leaving blood dripping from the tip of my knuckles, In the next moment I dash at the next archer but as I get close the blade of a axe comes into view which I sidestep.

"oh now you are stepping in, here I thought you would just stand by and watch as I kill your group" I say in a snarky tone as If I was expecting it, which to be fair I was but it took him longer to react then expected

"you are clearly a monster, there is no way a human could do what you are doing....that or you are one of those experiments from the north, either way If I kill you and take your body to those nut jobs up north I could get paid a few gold coins" The bandit leader says getting ready for another swing, but as he goes to swing I grab his arm and rip his arm clean off at which point the axe lands on the ground with a thud, he let out a loud guttural scream as I toss his arm to the side and bend down to grab the axe

The weight of the axe was perfect it wasn't too heavy or too light and it fit perfectly in my hands, the dual axe heads gleamed in the sun with a faint red hue from the blood stains it was the perfect weapon for me at this point.

As the bandit leader reacts to the fact he is missing an arm I ready the axe and swing straight down cleaving him in half, he stares at me not believing what just happened but he didn't get to say anything before he was separated directly down the middle causing his body to fall in two different directions and his entrails spilling across the ground, the rest of the bandits barely have time to react as I start to move.

Every time I pass a bandit they get cleaved in half or decapitated no mater if they are wearing plate armour or not, and the poor fools that don't die in one chop I just leave them bleeding out on the ground it took less than an hour for me to kill all the bandits.

I then go over to the villagers and free them from there bindings as I do I can tell that they are afraid of me, suddenly felicity in her bird form lands back on my head clearly shaken by all the bodies laying on the ground, not long after we entered the village felicity flew into the air as not to slow me down but she was clearly not expecting me to kill all the bandits.

"Thank you" a elderly man says as he steps forward

"No problem, You must be the elder of the village" I say as I gaze at the now free villagers

"I am Torin the chief of this village, may I ask what brought you to this small village?" Torin the village chief says

"I stumbled upon this village as I was hunting in the near by forest" I say not completely lying about how I got here

suddenly the person in the hood runs up and grabs my arm asking in a soft and pleasant voice "did you say you were hunting in the forest?" It's at this point that the hood falls down revealing a young looking girl with bright red hair and yellow eyes, she had white skin that looked like snow and strangely a pair of fox ears.

"is this your first time seeing a vulpine?" She asks, clearly I was starring at her ears for too long

"yes this is the first time seeing something so beautiful and cute" I say trying to cover up the fact that I haven't seen others like her

"oh, thanks, you are attractive...for a human" She says clearly taken aback "by the way my name is sionnach, but people just call me Sion" She says as she introduces herself

"hello Sion, my name is Alexander, some call me Alex" I say as I quickly glance up at Felicity

Sion seems taken aback upon seeing felicity, well the little bird on my head, in that moment I can feel that felicity is angry at me for some reason.

"You asked before if I was hunting in the forest, is there something wrong?" I ask as I try to divert her attention back to the conversation

"oh, yeah, I was sent here because there was signs of a mutated beast in the forest, have you by any chance come across a giant phantom bear that moves at fast speeds?" She asks as she pulls out a parchment that has a hand drawn picture of the shadow bear, right down to the scar

"yeah, I killed it already, is that bad?" I ask, taken aback by the fact that the creature had a very similar name to what it was called in my old world

"No, it's good that you killed it but that does mean that I came here for no reason" Sion says clearly a bit disappointed that she lost the reward for the kill

suddenly Torin chimes in "thank you for saving us and for killing the phantom bear" he says as he passes me a small pouch of coins

"what's this?" I ask as I stare at the pouch

"it's the reward for killing the phantom bear and I guess a reward for saving the villagers" Sion says as I take the pouch

I take out a handful of the coins and pretend to put them in my pocket as I discreetly put them in the storage space, I then pass the pouch to Sion.

"why are you giving me this?" Sion asks looking at the pouch

"well you took on the quest to kill the bear and you warned me about the archer" I say laughing

"no I can't take this it's your reward I didn't really do anything" Sion says hesitating about if she should take it or not

"just take it, you can see it as a payment because I have a request for you to guide me to the nearest city or town" I say

she seems to be contemplating what to do after a moment she realises what I said "wait what? you don't know where the nearest town is?" Sion says clearly surprised

"I was raised in the forest and have almost no contact with people or really anything besides beasts" I say thinking of a good excuse for why I don't know this world well

"that explains your freaky strength and why you look so different, plus it explains the spirit bird on your head" Sion says clearly believing what I said

Wait spirit bird is she talking about Felicity, I guess that explains why no one said anything about the strange bird.

"fine I'll guide you to the nearest town and I guess I'll explain somethings that you should know...but only enough for the amount of coins that you gave me" Sion says taking the pouch with a smile, she obviously likes money

I guess for now I have a new companion to talk to and I can learn somethings about this world.
