Chapter 1 - 1: How Can Someone Like Me Grow Stronger?!

He spoke "Master, how long do I have to get these logs up the mountain, this is labor!"

The Master gets disappointed at the man "You are not strong enough to beat me, A woman! You will be called a weakling by Urleanta, so show that you are capable of being the strongest swordsman that everyone respects."

He then spoke again, calmly without complaint, "Yes, Master, i will finish this."

He continued, climbing the tall and steep mountain, carrying the logs on his back, resembling the responsibilities he carries and will carry in the future.

As the moonlight spreads through the land, he goes down, and finishes, just in time for his dinner.

His master spoke, "Come here, young student, we shall eat!"

He nodded, sitting down, readying himself to eat the food.

He saw...

vegetables with little to no meat.

He saddened, his earbrows forming an arrow shape to his nose.

"Master, not to complain, but didn't you promise that i'd have more meat?"

She smirked and winked, making him get goosebumps,

then says this,

"Bark like you want it, boy!

I'm rationing."

She scoffed, making his stomach growl.

He then went to sleep in just a few minutes, waiting for the next day.

His master woke him,

"Boy! Get to training! This will be our first day of exercises! You'll have to finish this routine until lunch!"

He spoke back, "M-Master... I just woke up!"

Her hand reached on his left sleeve, pulling him out of bed as both pillow and blanket went limp on the floor, encasing whatever was lying on there.

"Yeah, woke up JUST in time to get training!" She retorted, tightly gripping his sleeve.

He waved his hands infront of her, "Fine, fine! I'll get off quick.."

She stared deep into his eyes for a long moment.

A pause that lingered longer than the cramps he currently has.

"... Y'know..."

She loosened her grip with a sigh.

"You do have some time to spare for later. Just use that time for later so you can rest - I won't be too harsh on you today."

He slowly tilted his head from her words. It was new. All of these words.. Words that are coming out from her.

"... Um.. Yeesss..?" He swallows hard, his mouth relaxing a little.

She let off his sleeve, "Mm. I better see you out over there, kiddo."

With her leaving the room, I was suddenly left behind with a deep, deep thought,

".. Did something happen to her?.."

He sighed, plopping down on the bed yet again.

"Whatever it is.. I'm pretty conflicted on whether I should be worried or be grateful.."

He eventually suited up, and headed for the doorframe

But for a moment, I was left staring at a bread, and a cup of water atop my table.

He shook my head, "That's for later's problem."

She then gets reminded of her past, she stops herself from moving and meditates in her dojo, trying to ease the pain that that day gave her.

The Master cried infront of a student in years, she then realizes she's never done that for everyone except him, she then saw him walk away and do exercises by himself, already checking the list that she gave him.

She starts to wipe her tears, walking away, she speaks while sobbing,

"Finish that list, please?"

She then walks away to her own room in the dojo. Her own student caring over her sudden breakdown.

By 11 A.M, he stops as his chest, abs, shoulders, everywhere around his upper body hurts, he lies down on the smooth mat provided by the dojo.

The Master, who looked like a mess with her messy hair, whistled for Kael to come over.

He walked as commanded to his master, sitting down next to her.

The Master spoke,

"Did you finish? Here's meat as promised." She slid the plate to him, gesturing to eat.

He brightened up smiling like a child, then he ate like a madman finishing in 3 minutes.

His master's eyes widened, forming an O on her mouth before finally speaking,

"The fuck? Can't you slow down?"

He shaked his head, walking to the fountain again.

His master, not done with him, says,

"I have another job for you.

Let's fight."

His eyes widen and smirk as his heartbeat rises, nodding.

His master then readying the training swords and putting them on the dojo, she then sets a rule.

Whoever hits the fatal parts, wins.

As soon as he heard the rule, he knew what to do. He striked immediately, thinking he'd immediately win, until the Master drops her sword to the ground and stops his sword, only then to grab her sword back and slash him hard. But he gave no reaction at all.

He then starts to move like a Lizard, quick and wavy, leaving the Master confused, she keeps her defense up.

When Kael tries to strike, she simply clashes with him.

She then says, "Too slow!"

He takes tired breaths, sweat dripping everywhere, his head and chest while his heartbeat rises.

He attacks again, a strike to the Master's chest, he charges at a fast speed, but the Master already knows where he's going,

She anticipates it to parry at the right time, but when the right time comes, she tries to parry but instead he fakes it and holds her shoulder to lift himself into the sky and strike her head.

And then, she parries that one too.

He grunts, making the sword fight even more against hers.

They clash but as his stamina and strength wears as they continue, he weakens, with his guard down, she strikes again and his body disappears, then a shadow looms over her, as she looks back, she sees him standing with his sword on the ground.

He asked with a smirk, "Who's faster? Me or you?" as he tapped her shoulder, gesturing that he won.

She hissed, ready to give him another task, she then speaks,

"I want you to go to town and walk it until sun sets."

He replied with a complaining face, "Until sunset? Are you kidding me?!"

She nods, having a huge smirk on her face.

He then walks to town, his feet already hurting, grunting too.

His master looks at him from afar, already training her slashing skills to fight him once again.

As he walks, he sees his childhood friends with magic, tormenting him,

A guy says, "Hey! It's Kael, The Magicless Loser!"

They all laugh at him not knowing he could beat all of them even without Magic. He readies his training sword, wielding it to slash them.

A girl then uses Ice Wave on him to freeze him, but before that happens, he jumps out of the way, leaving no one where he stood. He then charges to the Ice Girl.

But, the Ice Girl already charged up her Ice Skill to freeze him again, only for him to slice it like butter with his wooden training sword.

He surprises the whole group with his skills, making them all run away.

He decides to do the task given to him, only for the next hour to be tormented over and over again by the same group of people he considered "friends"

As he fights them, his wooden sword starts to break, so he runs and dodges the powers of the group, beating them up one by one.

He starts to wear out, only with a broken sword. He then whistles very loud enough for the whole town to hear, even the dojo could,

Then... she heard it, it was a signal of help. His master, jumping on the trees, readying her Sword Magic to save Kael.

Just before the group gets up, she's already there. She says an Incantation,

"Oh, Almighty First Wielders Of Magic, behold for i defend the ones before me and fight for them, Sword Magic: Sword Of Light, Light Whip!"

She turns her silver blade into a whip of beaming light and starts to slash at the group's power, leaving Kael shocked.

The group realizes, she's one of the rare wielders of Sword Magic and they run away knowing the consequences that would happen if they continue fighting.

Kael, standing there wonders why they ran away, then smiling at his master and says,

"Thanks, master!"

His master smiles and then says,

"Let's go before you almost die."

She carries Kael on her back and jumps on the trees, facing the cold and fresh air.

They both look at the sunset before going back to the dojo.

Immediately after she drops him on the ground, he passes out.

She cleans herself as the memories come back again, for the 2nd time of the day.

He wakes up in the middle of the night, next to his master asleep soundly, going outside to stretch and yawn.

His master woke up after him,

already planning the task she wants to make him do.

She grins, knowing there was some chaos in the Town Of Hadleigh near the colosseum, about some bandits that stole tons of gold in there that should've been funded for the sick that experienced Drain Syndrome,
