After securing the greatest harvest of this trip—the vault of gold—Peter turned his attention back to Elektra.

"Elektra, does Kingpin have any other hiding places?"

Elektra shook her head decisively. Without waiting for further prompting, she revealed everything she knew about the crime lord's operations. Kingpin's cunning was beyond Peter's expectations. Even a high-ranking operative like Elektra didn't know the location of his secondary residences; Kingpin only ever met his subordinates at pre-designated, temporary spots.

As for tracking him through street cameras, that was nearly impossible. Kingpin traveled with multiple identical decoy vehicles to act as smoke screens, or he moved through a network of secret underground passages known only to him. Furthermore, his inner circle used specialized satellite phones that never touched external networks.

It was this level of absolute caution that had allowed Kingpin to rule the New York underworld for so long. Had he been any less careful, his countless enemies would have assassinated him years ago. Peter had already tasked deep blue with scouring nearby surveillance, but no clues surfaced, indirectly confirming that Elektra was telling the truth.

Building a Foundation

Peter realized that the Kingpin of this universe was far more dangerous and cunning than the one Miles Morales had faced. While Peter and Gwen's secret identities remained safe for now, George Stacy was a visible target. Peter felt an urgent need to protect those close to him.

This was the real reason he had brought Elektra under his command. Fighting alone was a losing game; to live safely in this universe, he needed to build his own shadow organization. The Spider Society was a start, but its structure was too loose for daily protection. He needed a force completely loyal to him.

"You are free for now," Peter said, handing Elektra a modified smartphone. "I will contact you through this. Keep it with you at all times."

Without another word, Peter piloted giant god soldier no. 1 and vanished into the night sky, leaving Elektra alone in the cold wind of the penthouse.

The Summoning of the Celestial

Back at the abandoned factory district in the suburbs, Peter set the gold-filled vault aside and issued new directives to his AI.

"Deep blue, collect all online intelligence on Kingpin. Ensure the safety of Aunt May and Uncle Ben around the clock. Notify me the second something looks wrong. Also, monitor Elektra through the backdoor I left on her silver ring."

"Understood, Master," deep blue responded instantly. "I am watching."

Peter checked in with Gwen via phone. She had successfully taken her father to the hospital and was now home comforting her mother. With the immediate crisis handled, Peter turned to the task he had been anticipating: summoning his first subordinate.

He opened the system's light screen and selected the character card.

[Confirm use of Blue Advanced Character Card: Kelly Draidy!]

Buzz!

A blue light constructed a woman's figure out of thin air. She was slender and beautiful, with brown hair tied into two playful buns. She wore a traditional blue Celestial robe with an overlapping collar that did little to hide her shapely figure.

Peter quickly spent 300 points to grant her [Language Proficiency] and [Basic Common Sense] to ensure she could function in modern New York.

"For the glory of the Celestial World, Kelly Draidy is willing to serve the esteemed Chosen One!" She bowed respectfully.

"No need for that," Peter waved his hand. "Just call me Peter."

She looked up with a bright, charming smile. "Okay, Peter!"

"So, Kelly... your ability is to enhance equipment, right?" Peter asked, thinking of his suits.

Kelly spread her palms with a helpless expression. "Who told you that? The Enhancement Furnace enhances equipment!"

Peter groaned. He remembered seeing the Enhancement Furnace blueprint in the system shop—it cost a staggering 10,000 points. Without it, was she just a pretty face?

Seeing his distress, Kelly's eyes curved into mischievous crescents. "My real ability... is to make money. Give me some time to understand how this world's commerce operates, and I'll fill your vaults!"

Peter's eyes lit up. He had almost forgotten Kiri's legendary reputation for "swindling"—or rather, collecting—astronomical amounts of gold from players. He immediately spent another 200 points to grant her [Advanced Business Knowledge]. In this world, money was a power all its own.
