After the research and development of the nanoscale liquid metal was handed over to deep blue, Peter's exhausting schedule finally began to settle. For over a month, Peter's sleep had been compressed to its absolute limit. He spent his days researching at school, his nights fighting criminals with Gwen, and his late hours back in the lab.
By the end of most days, his total sleep was often less than two hours.
However, a miracle occurred. Just as Peter feared his brain would shut down from high-intensity work and exhaustion, he found his body adapting. Ninety minutes of deep sleep was now enough to fully restore his energy, allowing him to start each day full of vigor.
"This is really interesting," Peter mused. "Do Super Geniuses in this world simply not need sleep? Or is this a hidden effect of the talent skill [Mechanical Limit Breaker]?"
He decided that if he ever met Tony Stark, this would be the first topic they discussed.
The Quiet Before the Storm
Time flew, and another half-month passed. As Batman and Spider-Woman continued their patrols, their reputations reached new heights. The crime rate in New York City had plummeted by fifty percent compared to three months ago.
YouTube was flooded with "Batman-watchers"—fanatic fans who meticulously analyzed every upgrade to his suit, with videos easily garnering hundreds of thousands of views. Batman was, quite literally, the "traffic password" of the internet.
However, Peter sensed an anomaly. The city's Supervillains—who usually made their presence known with periodic chaos—had collectively vanished.
Peter's Tactical Assessment:
Status: Supervillain activity at 0%.
Suspect: Kingpin (Wilson Fisk).
Theory: Kingpin is likely consolidating power and uniting villains for a major retaliatory strike to recover his economic and reputational losses.
Peter wasn't worried. As long as his personal strength continued to grow, any conspiracy was merely a "paper tiger." And the key to that strength—nanoscale liquid metal—was finally ready.
The Big Reveal
On the last day of the semester at Midtown High, Peter received a short text from deep blue:
"Master, the research is complete. Ready for practical testing."
It was time to tell Gwen the truth. Peter couldn't hide Celestial Industries from her forever, and he wanted to share the success of the new metal with her. During class, he slipped her a note.
"After class, I'll take you to a good place. There's a surprise waiting for you."
Gwen's face immediately flushed. A surprise? After all this time, was Peter finally going to confess his feelings? She felt a mix of excitement and nerves. While their relationship was a "thin layer of white paper" away from being official, she had been waiting for him to make the first move for a long time.
Inside Celestial Industries
After school, Peter led Gwen to the Celestial Industrial Park. Her eyes widened when the high-tech access control system opened automatically for him without a card. As they walked through the sprawling facility, her suspicions grew.
Finally, they reached the deepest restricted area. When Gwen saw the massive deep blue main unit, she was completely dumbfounded.
"This... this... How is deep blue here? What exactly is going on?"
Peter placed his hands on her shoulders and explained everything: the acquisition of the industrial firm, Kelly's role as CEO, and the success of the Celestial Drones. Gwen realized the creator behind the viral tech she had been praising was the boy standing in front of her.
"Peter Parker! Why didn't you tell me you were starting a multi-million dollar business?!" Gwen demanded, though her anger was replaced by awe.
"I was just messing around at the time," Peter said sheepishly. "I didn't expect it to get this big."
Gwen adjusted her emotions, looking at him with a proud, slightly teasing gaze. "You mean starting a business is 'easy'? I'll have to think about your invitation to join. Spider-Woman is very busy, you know!"
The Second Journey
With the secret out in the open, Peter turned to the main event.
"deep blue, bring out the nanoscale metal for me to see!"
However, deep blue provided an answer that Peter hadn't expected.
"Before you see the metal, Master, I have other good news," the AI's voice echoed. "Using the spatial anchors created from the spider-rings located in the five other parallel universes, I have successfully calculated a new set of coordinates. The conditions for transmigration are now met!"
Peter's eyes flashed. The second transmigration journey was ready to begin much sooner than he had anticipated.
