Harry, who had just recovered his memories and was immersed in the fury of revenge, suddenly heard an unfamiliar voice behind him. He turned around instantly, his eyes narrowed and vigilant, and drew a noble scimitar from a decorative sword rack on the wall.
Clang!
The scimitar was unsheathed, its gleaming blade pointing directly at the two strangers standing in front of the French window.
"Who are you?"
Peter and Gwen, facing Harry's pointed blade, showed no concern whatsoever. As if they had returned to their own home, they casually walked from the window toward the center of the room, surrounded by luxurious antique furniture. Peter made a polite "ladies-first" gesture, allowing Gwen to take a seat on the sofa first.
Meanwhile, Harry quietly moved to a secret compartment in his wine cabinet. He reached in and activated his Green Goblin equipment: a wrist guard designed to deploy several sharp blades from the forearm, possessing a terrifying sharpness capable of cutting through iron like mud.
However, just as Harry thought he had the upper hand, Peter's voice rang out again.
"Put away your crude toys, Harry. If we wanted to hurt you, you'd already be a corpse."
Harry froze. How had these two mysterious people seen through his every move?
Proof of the Multiverse
"To show our sincerity, let us introduce ourselves first!" Peter pointed to himself, then to Gwen. "My name is Peter Parker, and her name is Gwen Stacy. I'm sure those names sound very familiar to you. However, we are not natives of your Universe, but rather from another one."
Harry's pupils contracted violently, and a surge of anger erupted in his eyes. "Do you think you're funny? Playing such a stupid joke? Or… did Spider-Man send you to mock me?"
Peter had anticipated this. Without another word, he raised his right hand. Inside the metal wrist guard was a split consciousness of deep blue, capable of utilizing ten percent of the main unit's computing power.
"deep blue, control the projector here and play the recording of our last parallel Universe trip."
The projector on the ceiling whirred to life. Buzz! It began to play scenes of the various Spider-Men fighting Kingpin and other supervillains on the wall. When Harry saw the different versions of Spider-Man appearing in the projection, he felt as if his mind were about to fracture.
"I don't believe it! This must be CG-synthesized footage. You must be with Spider-Man, working together to deceive me!"
Harry's resolve was wavering, but the darkness in his mind fought back.
Note for the Reader: The Human Enhancement Agent developed by Norman Osborn causes severe psychological instability. While Harry's symptoms were milder than his father's—who developed a complete split personality in the form of the Green Goblin—he still suffered from dark thoughts that tempted him toward a destructive path.
Demonstrating Celestial Tech
Seeing Harry still refusing to accept the truth, Peter presented his final proof. With a slight movement of his hand, the nano-liquid metal in his wrist guard spread instantly, transforming his arm into a sleek, metallic form.
Gwen cooperated, shooting a web that effortlessly snatched the scimitar from Harry's hand. Then, Peter used his suit's thrusters to enter a floating state, hovering over the sofa like a being who could manipulate gravity. This level of technology was far beyond anything in Harry's world.
Harry slumped onto the sofa, defeated. He was a smart man; he realized his equipment was like a child's toy compared to this.
"Even if you are Peter Parker from another World," Harry muttered, a trace of stubbornness remaining, "you cannot stop my revenge. My father died at the hands of Spider-Man!"
Peter looked into Harry's eyes, his tone becoming grave. "Don't be in a hurry, Harry. I have another piece of news to tell you. I hope you're mentally prepared, because I don't know if this is good news or bad news for you."
Harry let out a bitter smile. "Tell me. I'm ready."
Next, Peter slowly said, word for word:
"Your father, the original Green Goblin—Norman Osborn—is very likely not dead!"
