"This is going to be fun," I said with slight excitement. I'm not a maniac who loves killing, but this reminds me of the right games I played in my childhood. "So we just need to kill 2 people total," Luke said with slight anxiety. "We got this easy," I said, trying to calm him down. "What should we do first?" Luke asked. "Hide. Find people and wait for the perfect moment to strike." I replied, steeling my will. "Okay." He said. We went into some nearby bushes and traveled bush to bush, waiting to see people. We didn't see anybody isolated, so we chose to wait until we found a smaller group that would be easier to handle.
After about 2 hours, we found a group of 2 injured people running away from a larger group. "This is our chance," I whispered to Luke. I lunged at the first guy and slammed my club into his head. The second guy kept running, and I got my slingshot ready to fire, but then Luke came in front of the other man and killed him. We signaled to eachother to go back into the bushes, so we did. A second window then popped up on the right of my screen. "Kills: 2," the window said. It also said "Rewards." It then showed a list of rewards that we could get for our 2 kills.
Possible Rewards:
Unlock Aura/Magic= 10 kills
Random weapon= 2 kills
Weapon of choice= 5 kills
Rank up Aura= 100 kills
Rank up Magic= 50 kills
High quality potion= 4 kills
When I saw the possible Rewards, a small thought was planted in my mind. "I can get Rank 2? With 100 kills?" I thought to myself. "Change of plans," I said. "What are we doing?" Luke asked? "Kill everyone we see." The bigger the group, the better." I said. "Why? Why would we do something so dang-" Luke was saying. "Because, don't you want to unlock Aura? And plus, I really want that Rank 2 Aura." I interrupted, trying to convince Luke. "Fine." He said. "But if it gets dangerous, I'm leaving you." He said without hesitation. "Okay," I said calmly.
I set my eyes on that big group of people that the people we killed had run from. We found them, and we chose to strike. I dashed out of the bushes, and I began to raise my arm to swing at the closest person. I hit their head and went back into the bushes immediately. "What the hell?" One guy said. "He-he's dead!" A girl started to scream. As she panicked, I unleashed my aura and lunged out. I saw my aura bar depleted bit by bit, so I knew that I had to be cautious.
I swung, and the screaming girl died. I chose to stay out of the bushes, and I went for the next person I saw. As I fought, I realized that I should condense the aura around me so it doesn't deplete as quickly. I killed about 5 more of them, and then I saw a blue light and a circle below my feet. I unleashed an aura in my legs and moved away from the circle. A large icicle emerged from the circle, and it surprised me. "That's interesting." I thought. I signaled to Luke, and then I took the mage's attention away. Luke threw a dagger, and it slit the mage's throat, and they died.
The group scattered by then, leaving only the bodies and some people who were too scared to move. After I saw them paralyzed in fear, I struck again. There were 4 people who were frozen in fear. I struck and killed 3 of them, and Luke slashed the throat of the fourth person. "14 kills." The side window displayed. After I finished my slaughter, I saw an orb flow into Luke from the mage he killed. "You'll naturally unlock Aura soon," I said with joy for his accomplishments. "Maybe, but I want to be a mage," Luke said. "I see," I said with a blank expression.
I didn't know his reasoning behind wanting to be a mage, but honestly I didn't really care. We continued to massacre anyone we found and after about 3 hours we had racked up 50 kills total. "Sweet!" I said with satisfaction. "We can finish with a few hours to spare at this rate." Luke said. "Yep, so let's keep on pushing!" I said with greed in my eyes.
'Let's take a 1 hour break" I said with slight exhaustion. "At least to refill my aura" I said, not wanting to die prematurely. We rested. "So what happens when you hit rank 2?" Luke whispered curiously. "When I do, I can use something called a skill, and it's a specialized way to use aura and it's based off of your desires and experiences." I said answering his question. After we rested, we set back out to find more people. "Stop." I said with slight panic. I saw a massive glowing spear fall down from the sky and I knew. That is somebody's "skill". "I will get that." I thought to myself. "Let's go over there, there must be loads of people if someone is using their skill." I said.
"Okay, but it seems dangerous." Luke replied. "What's the worst that can happen?" I said as I saw a red glowing bead fly by my face, taking out any trees it collided with. "That's not a spell I've ever seen." Luke said with fear and surprise. "Its not a spell, its a skill." I said, my eyes reigniting with greed once more.
