I winced, my voice dropping an octave.

Lucian didn't even blink. "I know that," he said, his voice flat. "I didn't ask you where you were, or what you were out for."
He turned his back to me, walking toward the armchair to sit back down, dismissing me entirely. "I just wanted to remind you: do not pull any trouble to yourself."
