Chapter 373 - GAM Ch 373: The Cat Tree Incident

Siegel glanced at the master level thinker, educator, and philosopher beside him, who was fantasizing about how a spy cat would work.

A thought arose in his mind again.

Is this guy a fraud.

Though he had this thought, as a competent politician, Siegel outwardly remained silent, but inwardly he was already preparing for a more detailed investigation.

The Mercedes, after a long drive, stopped in the garden of his villa.

The driver parked the car at the villa entrance, and a servant waiting at the door opened the door.

Siegel and the master got out.

Siegel asked the butler who had just arrived, "Where is Lacus."

"Sir, Miss Lacus is playing in her room with young masters Athrun and Nicol."

Hearing the children's names, Siegel could not help but smile inwardly.

The dirty politics were for adults.

He was pleased that the children were having fun together.

Especially since they were from his political rival's camp.

If he suffered a political defeat in the future, their childhood friendship would prevent things from getting too ugly.

Everyone knows to leave a way out.

No one knows what the future holds.

"Where is the cat."

A certain master level thinker, educator, and philosopher hurriedly asked the butler.

Seeing the master's excited expression, and then glancing at his master, Siegel, the butler slowly said, "Miss and the young masters are playing with the orange cat."

A flame ignited in the master level thinker, educator, and philosopher's eyes.

He was determined to expose the orange cat's true nature.

"Mr. Clyne."

"Master, I understand your flash of insight. Let us wait until tonight."

"What."

"After the children are tired and resting."

"Okay, I understand."

As a conman, and a certain master level thinker, educator, and philosopher, he understood this principle.

Children's early years should be focused on happiness.

Otherwise, without a happy childhood, their thinking would likely become distorted later in life.

Siegel arranged for the master level thinker, educator, and philosopher, whose face bore three X shaped scars, to rest in the guest room, then went to his daughter's room to check on his cabbage and little wild boars.

In Lacus's room, various so called cat intelligence testing tools that Athrun had found online were scattered everywhere.

Garfield, the test subject, perched on the highest point of Lacus's cat tree, squinting at the group of mischievous kids.

Just now, Athrun, the King of Hats, had actually tried to put his stinky socks on Garfield's head.

Did they really think he was just an ordinary cat.

Lacus's stockings might be somewhat acceptable, but as for you little wild boars, get as far away as possible.

Hmph.

Garfield refused to cooperate.

Athrun and the others discussed it and decided to take Garfield down from the cat tree.

The kids were so small, and the cat tree was almost two meters high, and it was made of wood.

Under the influence of love, after some discussion, Athrun bravely took the starting position.

"Athrun, be careful."

The pink haired girl was not yet the corrupted green tea version of herself.

Seeing her friend Athrun volunteer to climb the cat tree, she worried about his safety.

"Do not worry, Lacus. I will be careful."

Receiving the encouragement of his little goddess, Athrun became even more excited.

He grabbed the bottom bar of the cat tree, gripped the two vertical posts, and began to climb.

Nicol, Yzak, and Dearka cheered from below, raising their little fists.

"Go for it, Athrun."

"Be careful."

"You can do it."

"For Lacus."

Nicol blurted out, seemingly without thinking.

Lacus blushed slightly, and Nicol glared at her. "You annoying Nicol. What do you mean for me."

Nicol pointed at Athrun. "The prince is on an adventure for the princess. Catch that rare orange pet, and you will win the princess's heart."

Looking at the chuunibyou like Nicol, Yzak helplessly covered his eyes. "What a disgrace."

Dearka, standing nearby, enthusiastically echoed Nicol's words. "Go, go. Athrun catches that rare pet and presents it to Lacus, and you will."

Nicol interrupted.

Athrun, distracted by his loud argument with Dearka while climbing the cat tree, lost his footing and fell backward.

Seeing Athrun about to fall, Lacus reached out to grab him.

Athrun was currently less than a meter tall, so a fall should not cause serious injury, especially for a strong Coordinator.

However, because they were testing Garfield's intelligence, the surrounding area was cluttered, and a head or neck injury could have serious consequences.

Garfield's reaction speed was far superior to these ordinary people.

After some thought, he decided it would be best to help the cuckolded Athrun.

He slightly raised his claws, channeling magic to cast a weakened version of a levitation spell, slowing Athrun's landing and reducing its impact.

Then, with Garfield's magic, Athrun's body tilted, eventually landing in Lacus's arms.

Lacus, holding Athrun, both fell to the ground.

Thump.

Ouch.

Lacus, lying on the floor, looked at Athrun in her arms, their eyes meeting.

Suddenly, the music box in the room began to spin, and a song symbolizing love slowly began to play.

Nicol, Yzak, and Dearka stared blankly at Lacus and Athrun lying on the ground, embracing each other, speechless for a long time.

While they were not looking, Garfield pulled out a camera from his pocket and started filming, storing the footage.

Later, when that treacherous Kira arrived, Garfield decided he should give him a good slap with his cat paws.

Not only did Kira steal his brother's fiancée, but he also caused the death of Athrun's best friend, and he acted like nothing happened.

What was most infuriating was that Athrun even tolerated Kira killing his father.

The hatred of having his wife stolen, the grudge of killing his father, and the death of his brother.

These were three major grudges, and even the Cuckolded King did not seek revenge.

Was Athrun praising Kira's magnanimity or was Athrun simply stupid.

Do not worry, Garfield would help him.

Achoo.

In some unknown place in Orb, Lacus, who was being nagged by Garfield, scratched her nose and gazed at the sky.

The sight of Lacus and Athrun made Siegel, who was peeking from the doorway, a little excited.

That was his own cabbage.

What was that little wild boar up to.

At the door, Siegel finally could not hold back, pushed open the door, pointed at Athrun being held by Lacus, and said, "Kid, what are you doing."
