Chapter 378 - GAM Ch 378: Lacus, Age Eight (Wiser Than Most Adults)

After a busy day, Siegel Clyne returned home exhausted.

He first visited his daughter, then washed up and went to bed with the help of the housekeeper.

Before going to sleep, Siegel asked his butler, "How has Lacus been doing lately."

The butler replied, "Miss Lacus is doing very well in her studies, and she is also excellent at singing and dancing."

Satisfied with the butler's report, Siegel closed his eyes.

He was about to sleep when his mind began to reflect on the day's events.

The negotiations between PLANT and the Earth Federation regarding specific supplies were not going smoothly.

After being influenced by certain individuals' propaganda, the Coordinators were gradually being perceived as another race.

Living in satellite colonies, they seemed like aliens constantly plundering Earth's resources.

But how could they remember that the Coordinators were born to make humanity faster, stronger, and more adapted to life in space, a sacrifice made so that all of humanity could enter space sooner.

Damn politicians.

He hated that word today, even though he himself was a so called politician.

Within the Earth Federation, calls for war against PLANT were growing louder, but although Siegel's intelligence personnel had found a clue, an arms company from a certain unscrupulous former Free Beacon nation, they lacked any evidence.

The pro war faction within PLANT was led by Patrick Zala.

Due to increasing pressure from the Earth Federation, Siegel sensed that Patrick was secretly planning military action.

This clashed with their peace loving principles.

Currently, with the doves under his control in power, he could still exert some restraint, hoping that certain members of the Earth Federation would not be misled by behind the scenes forces into doing anything inappropriate.

Thinking about various intelligence reports, Siegel gradually drifted into sleep.

He was exhausted.

At the Zala villa, Patrick Zala had just returned home.

These past few days had been incredibly busy.

Those people from the Earth Federation seemed to have lost their minds, demanding revisions to some contracts already signed.

Patrick understood their intentions perfectly.

They wanted to test the PLANT government's reaction.

If PLANT backed down, they would continue to find ways to oppress PLANT.

While there were indeed some disputes between the two sides, it had not yet reached the point of war.

Patrick Zala was currently being tightly controlled by his good friend and rival, Siegel Clyne.

Behind his back, secretly, PLANT was organizing a formal military force to prevent a potential surprise attack from the Earth Alliance in the future, but the short sighted and idealistic Siegel had restricted some of his funding and personnel.

"That Siegel is despicable. He is practically murdering our PLANT compatriots. No, I have to find a way to do something."

Patrick Zala, lost in thought, suddenly remembered the close relationship between his own son and Clyne's only daughter.

"Maybe I can do something about that."

A plan formed in Patrick Zala's mind.

Three months after revealing his divine abilities to the little pink girl, Garfield prepared all the necessary materials and magical items for educating Lacus Clyne.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon, while Siegel was out, Garfield began his first lesson in the Cosmic Era.

His goal was to cultivate a female leader possessing magical power, explosive potential, iron will, kindness, a touch of pink, cunning, and talent.

All in one.

In the little pink girl's study, amidst various toys, Garfield took out the contract scroll and solemnly asked her.

"Lacus Clyne, are you willing to give your soul for your ideals."

Lacus blinked and stared at Garfield cautiously as she asked, "Well, stories always say that only demons need human souls."

Garfield corrected her. "All gods need souls. Righteous gods want their contractors to be protected and become their subordinates after death, while cunning demons deliberately leave loopholes in the contract to devour your soul with little or no cost."

Lacus was still hesitant.

After all, it was too terrifying.

In the bedtime stories she read in school, only evil demons did such things.

Garfield unfolded the scroll and pointed to the contents. "These are creatures that have signed contracts. These two, Lilith and Vivian, are succubi from Hell."

Lacus's mouth dropped open in surprise.

Then Garfield gave her an even more explosive piece of news. "Alina and Eleta are angels, the kind of angels you have been imagining in your head. They are currently in charge of selling angel armor, angel weapons, exorcism tools, and other angel related items at my Odd Jobs shop."

The amount of information was a bit overwhelming, and even though Lacus was smart, she still could not quite process it.

After a long while, Lacus cautiously asked Garfield, "Um, after signing the contract, will I become your slave."

Garfield rubbed his chin and thought for a moment. "Slaves are the lowest level of people who have no talent or are inherently dangerous, so they sign contracts. You can think of it as being in the favored by God category, which means I have taken a liking to you and invested in you. In return, you have to obey me, but I will give you enough autonomy."

Lacus was still thinking when Garfield continued, "The contract is right here. If you do not like it, you do not have to sign it."

"Um, what is the difference if I do not sign it."

Garfield answered, "I just will not grant you great power."

Lacus asked, "Really."

Garfield replied, "False."

Lacus tilted her head.

"Little Pinky, if you do not think there are enough benefits, why should I, the King, go through all the trouble to bestow enough power upon you to help you fulfill your dreams."

Garfield's question made Little Pinky lower her head again.

Although she was young, she already understood that labor and reward were necessary.

Just as she learned from her father's occasional conversations that PLANT was secretly working in some countries of the Earth Federation in exchange for scarce resources.

Although the Earth Federation was severely corrupted by those weapons dealers, there were also some smart national governments.

They seemed to know what some evil individuals were doing behind the scenes.

Due to certain general trends, they had no choice but to follow the main force.

Of course, they did follow them, but what they did along the way was up to them.

Garfield could tell from the information provided by the butler that these countries were like the historically intelligent major nation and the so called neutral country Orb.

Squatting in front of the contract, Little Pinky gritted her teeth after a series of thoughts.
