Chapter 72 - Chapter 72 : After Guilliman's Tragic Death

Alex's dream was very, very long.

In his dream, he followed the advice of Xia and others, stepped forward to turn the tide, and suppressed the Colin Family.

However, on the other side of the galaxy, after Abaddon learned of his existence,

he realized that the Emperor was interfering with Holy Terra (Earth/Reality),

and to completely defeat the Imperium and prevent it from ever recovering,

he sent more troops to hunt down Belisarius Cawl and his group.

He also invited the Warmaster Honsou, Lucius the Eternal, and other Chaos warlords to act together.

Imperial heroes such as Black Templars Marshal Amaric and Inquisitor Greyfax sacrificed themselves one after another to protect the Fabricator General.

Even the Living Saint Celestine died many times before the Fabricator General could reach Macragge.

When the Eldar and Cawl worked together to resurrect Guilliman,

countless Chaos warbands attacked, plunging all of Macragge into war.

Calgar and others resisted fiercely, countless loyal soldiers died in battle, but they could not withstand the Chaos offensive.

Finally, a squad of Black Legion berserkers bypassed the trapped Calgar and others,

destroyed the Armor of Fate,

and even cut off the Primarch's head with a single sword.

Guilliman was not resurrected, and Macragge fell.

Calgar witnessed the Primarch's decapitation, was overcome with grief, and he and many Ultramarines fell into a state of rage.

The death of the Primarch, the Ultramarines, who were hailed as the Imperium's paragon, were completely consumed by vengeful fury.

They launched an offensive at all costs, unleashing devastating attacks wherever they could see enemies.

All of Macragge was blown to pieces.

The Ultramarines were not satisfied with this; they launched a Crusade of Vengeance.

They exerted their utmost to exploit the war potential of the Five Hundred Worlds of Ultramar.

Ultramarines powerhouses such as Calgar, Sicarius, and Ventris were trapped by Khorne while pursuing Chaos minions.

Calgar completely lost himself in endless slaughter and became a slave of Chaos.

Without Guilliman to lead, the Imperium was scattered, and the strongest Ultramarines went mad, issuing Exterminatus everywhere.

The entire galaxy was completely ignited, and order completely collapsed.

When Lion El'Jonson, the Primarch of the First Legion, returned, he faced a desperate situation.

Those brothers who had betrayed their father and the Imperium returned one after another, rampaging through Holy Terra (Earth/Reality).

More than half the galaxy was engulfed in war, with demons appearing everywhere.

He poured all his strength into gathering the remaining troops and fighting everywhere,

but the Imperium was in chaos, communications had completely collapsed, and there was no Astronomican to Guide them.

Ultimately, he was deeply besieged by Angron, the embodiment of the Butcher's Nails, leading a Khorne demon army.

Under the desperate cover of the Fallen Angels, the Lion escaped with severe injuries, and everything he had painstakingly built turned to ruins.

On Baal, there was no rescue from the Indomitus Crusade launched by Guilliman.

The Blood Angels and many successor chapters fought to the last moment, ultimately dying in a frenzy.

Sanguinius's corpse was devoured by the swarm, and the Tyranids / Tyranid created furious biomorphs.

Meanwhile, the Calixis Sector, under his own leadership, developed very well.

The Warmaster, Zigman, and other combat Players collected STC and Xenos technology for Cortana to devour, making their technology increasingly powerful.

Dora, Old Bird, and other farming or technical Players built fortresses and created colossus fleets, interstellar Death Stars, and stellar wave cannons, along with other powerful weapons.

Even plans like Gundam and Webway redevelopment were put on the agenda.

But without a Primarch to divert the attention of the Chaos Gods / The Four Gods,

when Calgar fell, Lion El'Jonson was severely wounded, and Dante died in battle, the Chaos Gods / The Four Gods began to exert all their strength against him.

They tempted the ignorant populace, inciting them to revolt,

and also released various plagues, creating panic.

They sent out vast, endless demon armies, leaving Alex exhausted.

At first, Alex could still gain the upper hand, even tormenting demons in various ways.

But as the Eye of Terror expanded more and more, the demons' power continuously grew stronger.

The technology he had painstakingly developed was either corrupted by the enemy or defeated by the transcendent power of the Warp.

The territory he controlled became smaller and smaller, and eventually, he was forced back to the Planet Atoma.

Finally, he dueled Abaddon, who had been inflated into a puff by the Chaos Gods / The Four Gods.

He heavily wounded the undefeated one, but he himself was beaten into a paste, just like Sanguinius.

The galaxy was completely plunged into despair, becoming a playground for the Chaos Gods / The Four Gods.

The ending of the dream was humanity's despair and suffering consuming the last vestiges of the Emperor's humanity.

A black sun rose from Terra,

and everything in the galaxy was burned to ashes in the flames of destruction.

Alex was startled awake from the nightmare, his back drenched in sweat.

He possessed the ability of prophecy.

He clearly understood that this dream was very likely a part of the future.

Destiny is a very precise thing, and even the Chaos Gods / The Four Gods and the Emperor cannot fully grasp it.

No one knew what kind of butterfly effect Alex and the Players' arrival would cause in this universe.

"I still have to go to Macragge; I have to personally see Guilliman resurrected."

Alex muttered to himself.

He was truly afraid.

If they lost, the Players could still leave.

But for him, it was hard to say.

The development of the Planet Atoma had entered the right track.

Although the Calixis Sector was engulfed in war,

the Imperial army had not completely collapsed yet,

and was locked in a fierce struggle with the Colin Family.

As long as he sent a group of Players to Macragge,

he could use the Holy Descent skill to travel back and forth, controlling the situation on both sides.

"Guide, sir."

Aying's voice sounded from outside the lounge.

"What's wrong?" Alex asked.

"The meeting is about to begin. Do you need to delay it?"

"No, I'll be right there." Alex stood up.

He organized his thoughts while washing up.

Upon arriving at the meeting, Alex didn't let anyone speak, directly stating his decision.

"I plan to lead troops to reinforce Macragge."

These words caused expressions of astonishment to appear on the faces of those in the meeting room.

They didn't know why the Guide would cross half the galaxy to reinforce Macragge.

Besides, Macragge was the home world of the Ultramarines.

The Ultramarines have many successor chapters; they surely wouldn't need their support, would they?

"Sir," Xia said, "the Calixis Sector is suffering from the ravages of war, and those engulfed in despair need your help."

"I have no choice," Alex said.

"You cannot abandon them. Being scattered and inconsistent will only leave you exhausted and ultimately save nothing."

Xia pleaded.

"Save the people of Calixis Sector. The rebellion stirred up by the Colin Family will cause countless deaths, and you are the only one who can stop it, sir."

Alex shook his head, "The Fabricator General is planning to resurrect the Primarch of the Ultramarines."

"The Imperium's current situation is rapidly collapsing. I am powerless to save the entire Imperium. If Roboute Guilliman returns, the Imperium will have more hope."

"The Black Legion intends to stop them, and I must go to support and ensure that a son of the Emperor can return successfully."

"Captain Losa will stay behind, and I also promise you that once the battle of Macragge is over, I will return immediately."

"I will never abandon you, nor will I abandon the people of this sector."

"..."

Alex convinced the attendees of the meeting.

He had everyone prepare to reinforce Macragge.

After the meeting, Alex edited a new mission.
