Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1

THE WAR OF LIGHT, THE WHISPER OF DIVISION**

1. THE FIRST VOICE

Before time learned how to move forward, before the heavens were named and the Earth was given borders, there was only God—and His voice.

"Let there be Light."

The command was not shouted, yet it carried immeasurable authority. Light burst forth, tearing through the ancient silence, driving darkness into retreat. And God saw the Light and said,

"It is good."

But when Man fell, darkness did not return as night—it returned as rebellion.

The Earth, once a sanctuary, became a battlefield. Humanity walked unaware, yet surrounded by invisible wars. Demons moved freely, whispering fear into hearts, twisting truth into half-lies, and turning brother against brother. Heaven watched. Hell rejoiced.

Then God spoke again.

"I will raise Generals.

Not angels—but men.

They will fight from the Earth, yet carry Heaven within them."

2. THE GENERALS OF FAITH

Christian and Lukewarm stood atop a rocky ridge overlooking a valley scarred by war. The sun dipped low, staining the sky red like spilled blood.

Christian rested his sword against his shoulder.

Christian: "The air is heavy tonight."

Lukewarm closed his eyes, listening—not with ears, but with discernment.

Lukewarm: "Yes. Something stirs beneath the surface. They are watching us."

Christian smiled faintly.

Christian: "Let them watch. They have seen us before—and they have fallen every time."

Lukewarm chuckled.

Lukewarm: "Not by strength alone. By unity."

Christian turned serious.

Christian: "Promise me something, brother."

Lukewarm: "Anything."

Christian: "If ever you sense danger in me—pride, blindness, deception—tell me. Do not spare my feelings."

Lukewarm placed a hand on Christian's shoulder.

Lukewarm: "And you must do the same for me. If my fire ever dims, remind me who I am."

Christian: "I will."

They clasped arms, covenant sealed.

Below them, demons hissed in frustration.

3. THE THRONE OF THE DESTROYER

Far beneath the Earth, beyond human imagination, the Underworld burned.

Apollyon sat upon his throne, forged from suffering and crowned with living flame. His voice rolled like thunder.

Apollyon: "Why do they still stand?"

A demon knelt.

Demon: "They fight as one, my lord."

Another added bitterly,

Demon: "Their unity shields them more than armor."

Apollyon's eyes narrowed.

Apollyon: "Then unity is their weakness."

He turned toward the Pit.

Apollyon: "Bring forth Disunity."

From the shadows emerged a figure neither fierce nor terrifying. His smile was calm. His voice was gentle.

Disunity: "You called, my lord?"

Apollyon: "You will not fight them. You will divide them."

Disunity bowed.

Disunity: "Division is quieter than war—and far more deadly."

4. THE FIRST LIE

Disunity found Lukewarm seated alone one evening, polishing his armor.

Disunity: "You are diligent."

Lukewarm looked up sharply.

Lukewarm: "Who are you?"

Disunity: "A passerby. One who observes."

Lukewarm: "State your purpose."

Disunity sat beside him casually.

Disunity: "Tell me—do you ever feel unseen?"

Lukewarm frowned.

Lukewarm: "Explain."

Disunity: "Christian leads. Christian speaks. Christian is praised. And you—always beside him, yet never ahead."

Lukewarm's jaw tightened.

Lukewarm: "We are one."

Disunity smiled.

Disunity: "Are you? Or are you convenient?"

Silence fell.

Disunity: "Ask yourself—if the choice came, would he choose you… or himself?"

Disunity stood and walked away, leaving the question burning.

5. DISTANCE GROWS

Christian noticed the change almost immediately.

Christian: "Brother, you have not prayed with me."

Lukewarm: "I needed silence."

Christian: "We have always prayed together."

Lukewarm: "Things change."

Christian's voice softened.

Christian: "Did I wrong you?"

Lukewarm: "No."

Christian: "Then why does your spirit feel distant?"

Lukewarm turned away.

Lukewarm: "You wouldn't understand."

Christian whispered after him,

Christian: "Help me understand."

But Lukewarm walked away.

6. THE ARMOR REMOVED

Days passed. Lukewarm prayed less. Fasted less. The fire in him cooled into embers.

Disunity returned.

Disunity: "There is a gathering tonight. A place without burdens."

Lukewarm: "What kind of gathering?"

Disunity: "One where armor is unnecessary."

Lukewarm hesitated, removing the Helmet of Salvation.

Lukewarm: "Just for tonight."

One by one, he laid them down.

The Shield of Faith clattered last.

He still held the Sword.

Disunity: "You won't need that."

Lukewarm: "I never go anywhere without it."

Disunity: "Trust me."

Slowly, Lukewarm released the Sword.

7. THE PARTY OF DEATH

The laughter was wrong.

Lukewarm felt it instantly.

Lukewarm: "This isn't right."

The laughter became snarls.

Demons emerged.

Demon: "Welcome, General."

Lukewarm reached for his sword—nothing.

Lukewarm: "Disunity!"

Disunity's smile faded.

Disunity: "You should have stayed united."

Lukewarm screamed as darkness closed in.

8. CHRISTIAN'S LAMENT

Christian fell to his knees when he learned the truth.

Christian: "Forgive me, Lord. I saw the distance—and did not run fast enough."

He wept until his strength failed.

Christian: "Brother, if only you had spoken."

The heavens were silent.

9. THE FINAL BATTLE

As Christian left the battlefield, the sky split.

Apollyon descended.

Apollyon: "You fight well… for half of a whole."

Christian raised his shield.

Christian: "My strength is not in numbers."

Fire erupted.

Apollyon: "Kneel."

Christian: "Never."

When the Sword fell, Apollyon laughed.

Apollyon: "Now you are like him."

Christian whispered,

Christian: "Though I pass through fire, I shall not burn."

He rose, Sword in hand, and struck.

Apollyon screamed.

Apollyon: "I will return!"

Christian: "The Lord rebuke you."

Apollyon fled.

Christian falls to the Ground and passed out
