Chapter 55 - Chapter 55: The Wall of Totto Land

Nuts Island — Totto Land

The sky was heavy.

Not with clouds—

But with tension.

Five figures stood at the center of the island's coastline.

Each one a pillar of power within the Big Mom Pirates.

Each one—

A monster in their own right.

At the front stood Charlotte Katakuri.

Tall. Silent. Unmoving.

His scarf fluttered slightly in the wind, eyes fixed on the horizon.

Behind him—

Charlotte Perospero leaned on his candy cane staff, licking his lips slowly.

Charlotte Oven stood with arms crossed, heat already radiating faintly from his body.

Charlotte Daifuku rolled his shoulders, expression impatient.

And slightly to the side—

Charlotte Amande rested her long blade against her shoulder, eyes narrowed in irritation.

"…This better be worth it," Amande muttered, glancing around her island.

Her island.

"…Why is something like this happening on Nuts Island of all places?"

Daifuku scoffed.

"You should be more concerned about who we're dealing with."

Oven cracked his neck slightly.

"…For Katakuri to call all of us out here…"

A pause.

"…This isn't normal."

Perospero grinned.

"Perorin~ Of course it isn't normal."

Katakuri didn't turn.

Didn't move.

But his voice cut through the air.

"I didn't call you."

Silence.

Perospero's grin widened.

"Perorin~ That's because I did."

Katakuri's gaze sharpened slightly.

Still facing forward.

"…Perospero."

"I'm the eldest son," Perospero said lightly, tapping his candy cane against the ground. "If something big is happening in Totto Land, I have every right to be here."

Oven nodded.

"…He's right."

Daifuku smirked.

"Besides, whoever it is… we'll crush them together."

Amande sighed.

"…Still doesn't explain why it has to be my island."

Katakuri finally turned slightly.

Just enough for his presence to press down on them.

"This battlefield…"

A brief pause.

"…has fewer civilians."

His voice was calm.

Calculated.

"…Evacuation will be faster."

Amande clicked her tongue.

"…Tch."

She was about to speak again—

"They're here."

Katakuri's voice cut her off instantly.

All of them froze.

Then—

They felt it.

A presence.

Heavy.

Overwhelming.

Like the ocean itself was pressing down on them.

From the horizon—

A Marine warship approached.

And at its bow—

A man stood.

Laughing.

"BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!"

The sound carried across the sea.

Loud.

Unrestrained.

Monkey D. Garp.

Behind him—

Vice Admiral Gion.

Bogard.

Marines standing firm despite the suffocating pressure.

Garp grinned as the ship slowed.

Eyes locking onto the figures ahead.

"Well now!!"

He laughed.

"Big Mom really sent her children to deal with me?!"

He stepped forward.

Cracking his knuckles.

"That's pointless!!"

The air trembled slightly.

Katakuri stepped forward.

Calm and unshaken.

"…Vice Admiral Garp."

His voice was steady.

But his eyes—

Sharp.

"Why are you here?"

A pause.

"…Are you trying to start a war?"

Garp's grin didn't fade.

Not even a little.

Instead—

It widened.

"War?"

He chuckled.

"…Don't make me laugh, kid."

His gaze hardened.

Just slightly.

"Do you even know who you've got locked up?"

Silence fell.

Heavy.

"…That boy…"

Garp's voice dropped.

Carrying weight.

"…is the future of the Marines."

Behind Katakuri—

Perospero's smile faded slightly.

Oven's flames flared.

Daifuku narrowed his eyes.

Amande tightened her grip on her sword.

Katakuri didn't move.

Didn't react outwardly.

"…Even so," he said.

He stepped forward.

"…I will stop you here."

No hesitation.

No doubt.

Garp stared at him.

Then—

"BAHAHAHAHA!!"

He laughed again.

Louder this time.

"Good!!"

The air—

Shifted.

A crack.

Like something invisible—

Breaking.

BOOM.

Haki.

It erupted from Garp's body.

Wild.

Violent.

Unrestrained.

The sky seemed to split.

The sea trembled.

The very ground beneath Nuts Island—

Shook.

Even the commanders—

Felt it.

Perospero's eyes widened slightly.

"…Perorin…"

Oven gritted his teeth.

"…So this is the Hero of the Marines…"

Daifuku smirked.

"…Heh… good…"

Katakuri's expression—

Didn't change.

But his eyes—

Sharpened.

Then—

He saw it.

A glimpse.

A moment ahead.

Future Sight.

'He's coming—'

Katakuri's eyes widened slightly.

"Perospero!"

His voice cut through everything.

"Cover everyone!"

Perospero blinked.

"…What?"

"NOW."

No hesitation.

Perospero slammed his cane down.

"Candy Wall!!"

Thick layers of hardened candy surged forward—

Wrapping around the group—

Forming a massive barrier.

And then—

Garp moved.

He leapt.

The warship beneath him cracked—

As he launched himself into the sky.

Higher.

Higher.

A shadow—

Falling.

Garp pulled his fist back.

Grinning.

"Don't blink!!"

His voice roared across the island.

"GALAXY—"

The sky trembled.

"IMPACT!!"

And then—

He fell.

---

Whole Cake Château was alive.

Music echoed through its massive halls. Loud, cheerful, almost suffocating. Plates clattered. Cups rang. Laughter bounced off the walls like a storm of joy that refused to die.

"Wedding cake~! Chocolate cake~! Mama's gonna eat it all today~!"

The Homies sang in chorus, swaying from side to side. Tables danced. Chairs shuffled. Even the walls seemed to hum with excitement.

At the center of it all—

Big Mom.

Charlotte Linlin sat upon her throne-like chair, surrounded by mountains of sweets. Cream dripped from her lips. Crumbs clung to her cheeks.

"Mamama~!! More! Bring me more!!"

Servants scrambled in terror, rushing to pile more desserts before her. Her massive hand swept across the table—

CRUNCH!

An entire cake vanished in one bite.

"Delicious~!!"

Her children stood nearby, watching. Some calm. Some uneasy.

But the mood—

It shifted.

Subtly.

Then suddenly.

Big Mom froze.

Mid-bite.

Her teeth hovered over a towering cake… and stopped.

A silence spread.

A pressure, ancient, suffocating, brushed against her senses.

Her smile… faded.

"…That Haki…"

Her eyes narrowed.

Slowly, she stood.

The ground beneath her feet trembled.

"Mamama…"

Her voice dropped, low, dangerous.

"…I haven't felt this Haki since God Valley."

Her grin returned.

Wider.

"…Monkey D. Garp."

Charlotte Mont-d'Or stiffened.

"…Mama?"

He stepped forward quickly, adjusting his glasses.

"Where are you going—"

"To him."

Her answer was immediate.

Mont-d'Or's expression tightened.

Katakuri said not to let her move…

He stepped in front of her.

"…Mama, perhaps you are mistaken. There's no way Vice Admiral Garp would—"

CRACK.

The air warped.

Big Mom's gaze dropped onto him.

Cold.

Killing intent seeped from her like poison.

"If you don't move…"

Her voice was quiet.

Too quiet.

"…I'll kill you."

Mont-d'Or didn't hesitate.

He stepped aside instantly.

"…Of course."

Smart man.

Big Mom grinned.

"Mamama~!!"

BOOM!

She stepped forward. Each footstep cracking the ground beneath her as she began moving toward the source of that overwhelming Haki.

Elsewhere.

Deep within the château.

Charlotte Pudding sat alone in her room.

Candles flickered softly around her.

Her hands trembled.

"…Why… won't it work…"

In front of her—

A mirror.

Her reflection stared back.

And above her normal eyes…

That hidden third eye.

She forced it open.

Strained.

Focused.

"Come on… come on…"

Nothing.

No awakening.

No power.

Just… herself.

Her fists clenched.

"…I have to…"

Her voice shook.

"…or he'll…"

She couldn't finish it.

Her head lowered.

Then—

Distant tremors.

BOOM!!

Her eyes widened.

"…What was that?"

Voices echoed from outside.

Shouting.

Running.

Panic.

Pudding stood up quickly and rushed out of her room.

The hallway was chaos.

Chess Piece Soldiers ran in formation. Homies shouted over each other. Orders flew in every direction.

"Mobilize!"

"Protect the château!"

"Evacuate civilians!"

Pudding grabbed one of the guards.

"What's happening?"

The Chess Soldier stiffened immediately.

"P-Pudding-sama!"

He saluted.

"Vice Admiral Garp has invaded Totto Land! All forces are being mobilized to intercept!"

"…Garp…?"

Her eyes widened.

"Everyone is being deployed, Pudding-sama!"

"Everyone…"

Her mind clicked.

Then—

Tenjin.

Without another word, she turned and ran.

Deep within the castle.

The prison chamber.

Pudding rushed inside, breathing heavily.

Her eyes landed on the book.

Mont-d'Or's prison.

She flipped it open and froze.

Inside the page…

Tenjin sat cross-legged.

Casually.

Completely relaxed.

Singing.

"…♪ If I catch a pirate, I'll break his nose~

Then I'll go home and strike a pose~

Justice is cool and pirates drool~

And I'm the strongest, yeah, that's the rule~ ♪"

He tapped his knee like it was a drum, completely immersed.

"…♪ If Garp-sensei sees me win—

He'll probably laugh and call it a sin— ♪"

He paused.

"…Hmm. Needs work."

Then he looked up.

"…Oh."

He blinked.

"…You're here."

Pudding stared at him.

"…What… are you doing?"

Tenjin shrugged.

"Passing time."

"…By singing?"

"Obviously."

A beat.

"…It's not good."

"It's a draft."

Pudding rubbed her forehead.

"…You're unbelievable."

She knelt down and opened the book wider.

"I'm getting you out."

Tenjin tilted his head.

"…Why?"

"Because—"

She stopped.

"…Just don't question it."

She reached forward and set the page on fire.

WHOOSH!

Flames spread across the paper.

The prison dissolved.

And in the next moment—

Tenjin dropped out onto the floor.

THUD.

He stood up slowly, stretching.

"…That's better."

Pudding grabbed his arm.

"We don't have time. Come on."

Tenjin didn't move.

"…Pointless."

She blinked.

"…What?"

"The castle's full of pirates."

He crossed his arms.

"I'm injured. Outnumbered. No ship. No plan."

A pause.

"…Not exactly a winning situation."

Pudding stared at him.

"…You're giving up?"

Tenjin scoffed.

"I'm being realistic."

She clenched her fists.

"…Vice Admiral Garp is here."

Silence.

Tenjin blinked.

"…What?"

"He's attacking the island."

A beat.

"…Everyone is mobilizing to stop him."

Tenjin's eyes widened.

"…VICE ADMIRAL GARP!?"

His entire demeanor changed.

Instantly.

The fatigue?

Gone.

The doubt?

Gone.

A grin spread across his face.

"…He actually came…"

Pudding watched him.

"…You're happy?"

Tenjin cracked his neck.

"Of course I am."

A spark lit in his eyes.

"That means…"

He stepped forward.

"…there's a chance to move."
