Jackson stood beside Emma's bed, looking at her with concern. He could sense how tired Emma was after the conversations and Anna's matchmaking. Although Emma had tried to stay calm and take control of the conversation, Jackson knew she needed rest and time to recover. He decided it was time to end the visit politely but firmly.
"Emma," Jackson said gently, but loud enough for everyone in the room to hear, "the doctor told me you need therapy and more rest in order to recover faster. I think it's time for you to rest for a while."
Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Lauren Anderson both turned to look at Emma, their eyes full of understanding.
"That's right," Mr. Thomas said. "Your health is the most important thing. You should rest more and not worry too much about entertaining us."
Mrs. Lauren nodded in agreement.
"Yes, Emma. You need to focus on recovering. We can come visit you again after you're feeling better."
