Chapter 2 - I'm Tapping That

Froze woke up feeling strangely healthy, his body humming with strength. His vision, however, was a frustrating blur.

"Huh. I'm still alive." The first thing he did was pat his chest, searching for the bullet wound. Nothing. Not even a scar. "What's happening? I was shot. Where's the wound? And more importantly... where the hell am I?"

A tiny creature materialized in front of his bleary eyes. It was the size of a tennis ball, shaped like a miniature girl draped in dark robes, with two small horns peeking from her hair and a pair of dark, delicate wings fluttering behind her.

The little figure zipped over to a nearby table, snatched up a pair of spectacles that glittered like diamonds, and carefully placed them on Froze's face.

The world snapped into sharp, crystalline focus.

"I hope you can see now, human," the creature said, her voice high but oddly formal.

Froze blinked, taking in his new... guide. "Let me get this straight. I wake up alive when I should be dead, and I'm somehow having a conversation with... a succubus?"

Instantly, a vein throbbed on the little girl's forehead. "I am not a succubus, you damn human! Don't you dare compare me to those bitches, you pervert!" she shrieked.

"Wait, then... a fairy?" Froze asked, genuinely confused.

The bulging veins tripled. "No! I am your System Guide."

"System Guide?"

"Yes. You died in your old world and have been transmigrated into this one as the 8th Prince of the Von Stein family. In the process, you awakened the Chaos System. I am its manifestation—your guide."

"I see," Froze said, adjusting the unfamiliar glasses on his nose. A familiar thrill shot through him. "So it's a typical webnovel plot. Please tell me I'm not a disposable side character or something."

"Oh, you most certainly are not," she said, an inhumane smile stretching her tiny features. "You have a primary objective in this world: Wreak Havoc. Cause Chaos."

Froze bowed slightly, a slow grin spreading across his face. "I'll gladly accept that cause."

He finally took stock of his surroundings. The bed was colossal, and the room was vast enough to park five large trucks. Golden chandeliers hung from the ceiling, and a wardrobe with ornate, golden knobs stood against one wall.

Froze stood and walked to a full-length mirror. The reflection was familiar, yet enhanced. His skin was pale, his hair a brilliant, medium-length, which was white in color, and a cascade spilling over his forehead. Behind the diamond-faceted glasses, his eyes were a piercing sky-blue. His body was defined—not bulky, but lean and sculpted into a perfect V-shape.

"I'd say this prince looks rather like me," Froze mused, analyzing his new form.

"That's what made him the perfect vessel," the guide chimed in.

"So, what should I call you?" Froze asked.

"Whatever you wish, human."

"How about... Lily?"

The little guide's wings fluttered. "I... suppose that name is fine," she said, turning her head to hide a flustered smile.

"So, Lily. Can I see my stats now?"

"Oh! Right."

A transparent interface materialized before him:

"Hmmm. Interesting," Froze said, tapping his chin. "These 'Talents'... Manipulation, Quick Learner, and... a Battle Maniac? I've never been in a real fight. And Pervert? Who even added that?"

"The System knows more about you than you know yourself," Lily said, looking unbearably proud.

"Right. Well, I know nothing about this world. I just found out my name is Sylis."

"You'll receive his memories momentarily," Lily replied.

Instantly, a sharp, invasive pain lanced through Froze's skull. It was as if a book was being violently written directly into his mind. When the pain receded, it left behind the complete life experiences of Sylis Von Stein—and a foundational knowledge of this brutal, magic-saturated world.

"I see," Froze said, the smile returning to his lips. "Such an interesting world I've been dropped into."

"I knew you'd like it," Lily sang, hovering around his head.

"But the fact that the 8th Prince was poisoned means someone wants him dead. And that someone thinks they've succeeded." Froze adjusted his glasses, the lenses flashing. "How amusing. Family dinner should be a riot. For now, let me pay my respects to this body by finding the culprit."

Knock. Knock. Knock.

"Young Master, it's time for breakfast. I'm coming in."

The door opened to reveal a maid. She wore the standard black-and-white uniform, but it strained against a truly voluptuous figure. She had long, flowing blonde hair, sharp green eyes, curves assigned by a divine architect, and cherry-pink lips.

Ahh, shit. She's pretty, Froze thought, his internal monologue kicking in. I'm definitely tapping that. Soon.

"I am definitely hungry," Froze announced aloud, his gaze unwavering. "But not for breakfast. I want something else."

The maid's cheeks flushed a brilliant scarlet. She understood perfectly. "Y-Young Master, you can't... you mustn't..." she stammered, her lips trembling, her face a perfect tomato.

"Oh, I can do whatever I want," Froze purred.

In two smooth strides, he was before her. He grabbed her by the waist and pulled her close, feeling her tense against him. He plucked the breakfast tray from her shaking hands.

"Thanks for the breakfast," he said, his voice a low whisper. "You may leave. I'll call for you when I'm done." He leaned in, his lips brushing the shell of her ear as he added, "...with this."

She fled the room, her steps unsteady and sloppy.

"Let me remind you," Lily said, materializing in front of him with a scowl. "You're supposed to wreak havoc, not wreak women."

Froze adjusted his glasses, the picture of scholarly innocence. "Well, I have a 'Pervert' talent. Not using a talent means wasting it. And I never waste something that promises pleasure." He picked up a piece of fruit from the tray. "Now, let's have breakfast. After that, you're going to tell me everything I need to know about how to turn this world upside down."

The end.

Thanks for readiiiiing.
