Lavenia's POV
Sitting between Dad, Damien, and several men who claimed to be the fathers of my puppy felt like being in an interrogation room with several investigators who would ask when, where, and what happened at the scene of a crime.
I didn't commit a crime, in my opinion. But not according to Damien. To him, I betrayed him, forgetting that he committed a greater sin than I did.
The difference is, he did it with many different women at different times, while I did it with four men at the same time, all of whom were leaders of large packs.
"So which one of you is the father of my daughter's baby?" asked my dad, which I found ridiculous.
Does this mean they have to admit that they gang banged me?
Shit!
The four of them looked at each other. Perhaps they were as confused as I was, and Dad sharpened his gaze on Doctor Lane.
"How could you..." Dad shook his head and sighed heavily. "I respect you, Doctor Lane. And you did this to my daughter."
"I didn't know she was your daughter. It just happened, and it wasn't just me."
Dr. Lane's answer seemed cowardly. While the others claimed easily that they wanted me, he didn't.
I didn't want to say much because they were the ones who should be responsible. However, Dad seemed to be frustrated because no one answered his question.
"I will take responsibility. If you want me to marry her, I am ready without hesitation," replied Professor Satoshi. Or to make it easier, I'll just call him Hero.
However, hearing Hero's statement, which was actually very gentlemanly and made me smile happily, Dad seemed to disagree with me.
"It's impossible for someone like you to impregnate my daughter," he said, laughing bitterly.
What? "What kind of person is he, Dad?" I asked, not accepting his attitude, and when I glanced at Hero, he smiled slightly. It seemed like because he felt like I'm siding with him..
"Well... he seems... too obedient to the rules. It's impossible for him to be that wild to sleep with you until you get pregnant."
What? What? What? Seriously, Dad?
"Then what kind of man COULD sleep with me until I got pregnant? Tell me." Dad looked at each man in front of him and stop to Doctor Lane. "Don't choose Dr. Lane. He didn't claim this baby from the start."
Dr. Lane seemed shocked to hear my words, but I didn't care. He had to know that he was responsible for me. However, he let it all go and remained silent like a fool.
"Yeah... if you don't let me choose Dr. Lane, I'll think that Damien is the one who got you pregnant."
"Please, Dad..."
"I've never even touched her, Alpha Albert." Damien protested.
"Well, listen to that. Only these four people have touched me. But it seems that Dr. Alex Lane was just an anomaly at the time. He didn't touch me, or maybe his anomaly did it. That's why he can only remain silent." I turned to Dr. Lane. "Isn't that right, Doc?"
The Dark Grin, Rayden, chuckled softly. He seemed to share the absurdity of this situation.
"Why are you laughing?" asked Damien, looking displeased. "Is that funny? Her words are disgusting."
"You don't find it funny? That means we have different senses of humor. No need to be upset," replied Rayden casually, not feeling intimidated by Dad's attitude, who had been praising Damien all this time.
"Enough," Dad exclaimed with a tired face. "This is ridiculous. I didn't expect my daughter to be this wild."
"Yeah, right. It turns out she's wilder than she looks," Damien replied. "Why did you restrain yourself and keep your virginity from me when you gave it so easily to four men. At once. Oh my God... Lav... what kind of woman are you—"
Hero stood up and suddenly grabbed Damien by the collar. His eyes flashed red, staring at Damien as if he was ready to tear him apart.
"If you don't shut up and keep insulting Lavenia, I won't hesitate to tear you apart and hang your flesh in front of the members!" he hissed, half whispering, but still sounding sharp and intimidating. And Damien looked like a shriveled orange in front of him.
Dad looked increasingly confused by the problem he was facing. He repeatedly shook his head in incomprehension. Meanwhile, Dr. Lane kept glancing at me as if he wanted to say something.
No, sir. I'm not opening up a confessional session. If you really don't want to take responsibility, then please leave. You know where the door is.
However, he got up and approached me, who was still waiting for answers to all these confusing questions, with Dad apparently unable to mediate in this matter.
"Can we talk for a moment?" asked Dr. Lane, and with deliberate reluctance, I nodded.
I motioned for him to follow me to my room. We went in, sat facing each other, and were silent for a moment.
"Is that it? Is this all you want to do—keeping your mouth shut?" I asked irritably.
He looked down. "It's not that I don't want to take responsibility."
"Then what?"
He looked restless. He was different from Dr. Lane, who had made love to me that night. That night, he was so bold, thrusting hard and filling me up. If I may say so, of the four men who also made me scream with pleasure, he was the one I found most difficult to forget.
There was something different when he entered me. However, I didn't tell him that. He had to find out for himself, and I didn't want to seem too eager for him.
It was up to him if he didn't admit it, anyway. "You better just leave," I said, which startled him. "You're wasting my time. Okay, without you, the candidates are getting fewer, and regardless of whose pup this is, why should I care? I need a husband who loves me. Someone much better than Damien. If you give up, then you're not the one."
He didn't say anything, but instead pulled me close to him and kissed me deeply. So deeply that I didn't know how to pull away from him.
I won't say that I fell in love with him. These four men... to be honest, they managed to catch my attention, and besides that, they—maybe Dr. Lane is the exception—wanted me badly.
However, Dr. Lane's attitude this time confused me. He didn't admit anything, didn't make any claims, didn't even give any assurances, but what he did to me now seemed to say a lot in a different language.
He moved away, cupped my cheeks in his hands, and caressed them with his thumbs. His gaze was so deep that I could see my reflection in his blue irises.
We were both gasping for breath. I was gasping because I was out of breath and couldn't believe what he was doing. And just as he was about to speak, I was completely focused on him when a gunshot rang out from the second floor.
He and I looked at each other, then simultaneously went downstairs to find Rayden pointing a gun in each hand at Dad's and Damien's head.
