Chapter 25 - 25:Abeloin

In the northern part of the capital, the dwellings of the lower nobles are.

Located down the clean streets of beautifully built and decorated houses, was a house at the end of the streets just the same design as the others.

It was built to blend in perfectly with the aesthetics of the nobles living in the other houses. People would occasionally glance at the house, wondering who lived there, but the only people present were collared slaves working around the front porch and the flower garden. A normal sight.

But what they did not know was that, past the sitting area, there was a small concealed door just a few steps under the staircase.

The door, when opened, reveals a flight of staircases with small splatters of blood scattered around and the signs of dragging.

If you go deeper down the stairs, it opens up to a large room filled with cages, tables, beds, and tanks with humans and animals floating inside that are connected to glowing wires that disappear into the walls, to their power source.

Energy crystals.

The air inside carries an overwhelming stench of medicine and a faint smell of disinfectant that broke through after a while.

Yes, this is the lab I had built under the capital. A project that was managed by Donovan and the slaves I had procured.

"Young master, what's going to happen to Isis?"

Abeloin asked me as he stared at the suspended Isis in the static tank he had built. He had first been surprised when he walked inside, but he had been too worried about the doll to even ask.

"Its just basic healing and overall body improvement. Her body needs rest."

Abelion nodded along. He walked over and touched the glass. The static tank was large enough to support a person standing and have enough space to lift their hands.

Isis, the doll, was floating in a colorless liquid. A mixture of healing potion, strengthening potion, and some different animal DNA.

I wanted it to integrate with her body, but I wasn't too sure if it would work. It doesn't hurt to try.

"How long will she be in there? Will she be alright?"

He asked me feverently.

"Don't worry, she'll be by your side when you wake up."

"Wha...."

Donovan, who had been behind him, stabbed anaesthesia into his neck. Abelion looked at me as though I had killed his family, but anaesthesia took over before he coulddo anything.

He fell back limply on Donovan.

"God I hate this part."

Donovan said and picked him up. He took him to the operating table and laid him gently on the bed before turning to me.

"Can I go now, or am I staying?"

"Youre staying. Have you fed the slaves?"

I asked Luna, and I started to clean my hands and put on the clothes for the operation.

"Yes, but some of them won't eat."

I tied the back of Luna's clothing.

"Really, let them starve if they can. Hunger can do wonders they'll ask for it eventually ."

I opened the small transparent tent and entered with Luna behind me. Donovan was outside the tent looking inside. This was the cleanest place in the laboratory.

I had set it up so that it cleans itself every five minutes. The convenience of learning a cleaning spell from the head maid at home.

"The pregnant girl, Joy, is among the stubborn ones. Kept crying about wanting to leave and why we were cruel."

I chuckled.

"Scalpel," I said to Luna," she's a stubborn one. Have you tried using what about your child's card?"

"Yes, I did, but it seems she's on the verge of going mad. Calls the baby a monster or something. "

I cut slowly past the skull.

"Suction. "

Luna suctioned the blood.

"Well, injecting potions into the fetus did scare her, didn't it?"

Donovan sighed loudly.

" She tried to hit her stomach on the wall then her head."

"Tsk," I clicked, " she should be seven months in, right?"

"Yeah thats what she told me."

I leaned in to start destroying the desired parts of the brain.

"Just tie her up, if she refuses the food, force a tube down her throat. It's not like she's the first."

Luna suctioned the blood again. I started to reconstruct carefully. This was the part that was the most delicate.

"But, won't that put the mother under too much stress.?"

"Even a mad woman can get pregnant and give birth to a normal baby."

"That's sick, young master."

I chuckled.

"Its true whether you like it or not."

"Is there a man really that desperate. "

I burst into laughter.

"Men are animals Donovan. "

He chuckled.

"True."

I turned to luna who had finished suctioning again.

"I've finished with the brain, just as practice stitch him up."

She nodded and took over me. Stepped back and leaned against the table looking at her work. Her fingers were dexterous and she was working fast.

She was on the verge of catching up to me. It was a shame I couldn't teach her how to ingrain the spells in her brain since it required me to do it personally.

"I'm done young master."

I checked the stitches, and they were cleanly done.

"You've gotten faster at this."

Lunas smiled af my praise.

"Thank you master."

"Okay let's go. Let him rest he should be awake in a few hours after healing. "

We cleaned ourselves up and left the small tent.

"Is she awake?"

I asked and walked towards the tank where the doll was. She had her eyes open and was looking around frantically clearly searching for her master.

"Settle down."

She stopped and looked towards me, the previous worry gone and her eyes now blank.

I pressed a small blue button at the bottom of the container and the liquid inside started to drain until only the girl was left crumpled on the tank floor.

Donovan pressed another red button, and the glass hissed before a spell appeared, then a door opened in the glass as if it had been cut through.

"Come out."

She stood up and walked out of the tank.

I led her to a bed and gestured for her to sit down.

"Extend your arm."

She extended her right arm to me. I touched her skin to see if there was any difference, but it still felt like human skin.

Luna brought me a syringe, and I drew some of her blood and gave it to Luna. I wanted to see if any DNA had managed to sneak in.

Since this was a world where everything had mana integrated within, I wanted to see if magical beasts' DNA could enter someone if they had been exposed long enough.

"Come, let's taste your strength before your master wakes up. This will be a good surprise for him."

I took her to a small training room that had different weights and equipment.

"I'll leave her to you and just watch from the side."

I said to Donovan who was following behind me. He nodded and pulled her into the room and shut the door behind them.

I walked to the observation window to record the results.

Donovan had a huge smile on his face. He was an adventurer at heart after all.

When he is free from the duties I give him, he spends most of his time going on rampages and completing quests for the adventurers guild.

"Come on, let's test your strength before your master wakes up. This will be a good surprise for him."

Actually, he was more suited to dealing with fights or things that required the rush of adrenaline.

"Young master, is it okay if I go all out, or should I be soft?"

He asked excitedly. I felt like throwing something at him. That was a very stupid question to ask.

"Go all out, I want to see her limits."

Donavan nodded and kicked the girl directly on her side. She was caught completely off guard and slammed into the wall directly.

She stood and walked back to Donovan. Donovan didn't wait he punched her directly on her chest. She was thrown back again and hit the wall painfully.

"She's really studying."

Luna nodded at that. Donovan had been hitting her over and over again but she stood up every time and walked back.

All of a sudden she blocked Donovan's fist and kicked him on his side. He jumped back to avoid it.

"She's good."

Donovan said cheerfully. He continued to attack while she blocked each one of them, trying to attack Donovan each time.

As if luck was on her side, she managed to avoid Donovan's defense and punched him in his stomach. He was pushed back by the force while holding his stomach.

"Whatever you pumped into this girl, you gotta give it to me. That punch would have torn someone weaker."

Donovan said excitedly. I chuckled at that but still wrote down his evaluation.

"She's copying him."

Luna said.

"Correct. There was mimic DNA among the ones I placed in the tank"

This was really a good day.
