Chapter 46 - Chapter-:47

I would like a word," Snape told him, simply. "Have a seat."

Realising he had little way out of the situation, Harry did as he was told.

"There is no need to hover Mr Weasley, you may go," the professor said, without so much as a glance in Ron's direction.

Ron hesitated, reluctant to leave Harry alone with his guardian.

"Is there a problem?" Snape enquired.

"Well… uh… it's just…" Ron began. "Um… McGonagall said we weren't allowed to walk around the castle on our own."

"That is Professor McGonagall to you, Weasley," Snape corrected him, before gesturing towards the door. "On my way here, I came across Finnigan and Longbottom, behaving like primates in the corridor. Take them with you and run along."

Ron glanced at Harry, still unsure, but Harry nodded.

"I'll catch you up."

Once Ron had disappeared, the two of them remained in silence for some time, before Snape eventually spoke.

"Whatever you are researching within those books, I suggest it remains on the paper."

Harry stole a glance up at the man.

"There are a great many things that I wish to discuss with you," Snape began. "But I would like us to start with the events of our last meeting. Do you care to explain why you refused to engage with me and fled the headmaster's office in such a ridiculous manner?"

"I just uh… had a lot on my mind," Harry mumbled – truly the best he could come up with.
