Chapter 15 - The Hell-Borne Witch's Student

In the hallway leading down to the administration block, I took careful and meticulous steps, contemplating the events of recent times. In the administrations office, I registered my student identification and got a school plaque card as well as my dorm room. For lesser nobles, we had personal rooms with less privileges than higher ranking ones. And for commoners, there were shared accomodations.

In Bright Star Academy, there were seven blocks for student accommodation. They were labelled with the names of the first seven holy knights, which some how annoyed me.

My hall was the Ophelia Hall, named after the divine saint, Ophelia Macklin. My room was situated on the top floor of a three story medieval architecture style building. Room 254 on the top left side of the building.

I decided to go shopping for some necessities and house supplies that I hadn't packed on my way to school. With my warp spell, I could easily close the difference between my room at the Black Manner and my dorm room. However, knowing my family, my mother is probably frequenting the room out of missing my presence in the house. I'd have to be careful with that spell.

The Imperial Capital had a rustic look, the use of steam powered equipment combined with magi-tech gave a olden day yet futuristic vibe. With hands in the pocket of my school uniform, I made my way to a popular range of shops in the Imperial Capital. They belonged to just one company, " The Teslas Cooperation".

This range of shops was established by the most business minded of the current seven holy knights, Arthur Teslas; the thunder mage.

It would seem that other worlders had influenced a lot of the cultures of Grandiose. The buildings had futuristic designs and modern aesthetics.

After what felt like hours of shopping, I finally found everything I needed.

Deciding to head back to the Ophelia Hall, I took a wire cart ride and stopped in an alleyway near the school gate. I was ready to enter and rummaged my pocket for my student Identification card.

As I rummaged, I heard noises in the alleyway. At first, I pinned it on stray dogs and cats. However, the sound of painful groans filled the air. The gatekeepers rushed to check the situation.

Not wanting to be noticed, I leapt on the roof of a nearby building, catching a sight of the situation. Down below, a pinked haired, short girl stood confident with the bodies of thugs riddled around her. The shocked expressions of the guards could only mean one thing, she single-handedly beat those men to a pulp. I sensed at her immense aura as it flowed off in waves. The strange thing was that I could not view her stats.

I looked on with surprise and hints of admiration. The girl before me was no ordinary student and I knew that for sure. As I looked on in curiosity, she suddenly looked back at me. Out of shock, I teleported from the rooftop, still wondering just how strong she was.

I was now officially a student of Bright Star Academy, majoring in Magic Swordsmanship and my two minor courses being, Magic Theory and Alchemical Magic.

My room was now setup with all the necessary equipment and on the door to my bathroom, was a rune magic that linked my dorm to the suspension realm I decided to name, "White Void".

The following day;

I dressed up in my self-maintaining uniform and made my way to the grand hall, for the official speech to begin our school year.

I sat down amongst my peers, the gazes of unfamiliar Noble kids looking my way.

Seated two rows infront was the very girl that risked my plan to lay low. On the stage up front, the head of the student council, Lucas Van-Osted gave a speech. His words were meticulous, a sense of calm superiority washing over us he continued his speech. Of course, I sat there inattentive, my mind still swirling with questions. Who was that girl? Is she in the same year group as I am?

In my deep contemplation, I noticed two people's gazes from the teacher and staff area. The first one was from the Divine Knight, still sceptical about how strong I was.

I knew definitely, that not creating a binding spell to keep him quiet would only bring the Cheshire identity to light. However, that occurrence would also be part of my plan.

As for the second gaze, it was from a slightly proportioned woman. From her appearance, she was obviously a mage. Her slightly messy blonde hair hinted at a strong dedication to her research. I ignored the Divine Knight, glancing at her and noticing her immense magical aura and power density.

From the whispers, it would seem she was Audrey Claudette. She was the highest ranking mage in her job Class, " Witch". From the rumours, no one has survived her intense personal training and it has even gotten her the name, " the Hell-Borne Witch".

I wondered why she had her gaze fixed on me as the student council president concluded his speech.

The next person to mount the podium immediately commanded attention, as my heart felt heavy from the sheer power of his aura. Analysis failed and I couldn't help but tremble.

Before me was the Deen and headmaster of Bright Star Academy, Christopher Arcanous.

He is known throughout history as the world's greatest sinergist, able to construct buildings in less than a day.

" Mages were often categorized in circles.

A circle is formed, when a mage can perfectly, circulate their mana around their heart, causing a steady mixture of mana with their blood stream. The more circles a mage can create, the more powerful they are in their Job Class ".

Christopher Arcanous, was the first and virtually the last nine circle sinergist. He congratulated us students for our efforts and urged us to work hard for the empire's growth and the glorification of our noble houses. At that moment, I was smitten, my look on reality altered as I saw a man I could potentially learn from. The only problem was the fact that I couldn't reveal my two class status.

At the end of the speech, I had my first class of the day, magic swordsmanship. I walked down the flower bedded walkway towards the Class 1A auditorium. From behind me, I noticed someone in pursuit of me. With a sudden turn, the only words that came out were, " you!?".

It was the girl from the alleyway. With a nonchalant expression, she pushed back a dangling strand of her pink hair and addressed me.

" Pleasure to meet you August. My master Miss Audrey would like to have your audience".

I was shocked and wondered whether she was the student of the Hell-Borne Witch, which would've explained her immense aura.

But, " what would a mage want with a supposed swordsman".
