He frowned, crossing his arms. "I need proof. I need to show them something that proves the 'Weeping Ghost' is destroyed, without showing them you."
Ahena laughed, a low, sultry sound. She reached a clawed hand between her breasts and pulled at her own skin. A small, pulsating black crystal emerged from her chest—a fragment of her concentrated Yin energy.
She held it out to him.
"Here," she said. "Take this. It is a Soul Shard. It radiates the energy of a high-level spirit."
Kai took the crystal. It was cold and heavy.
"Tell them you fought a Formless Yin Demon," Ahena suggested, tracing a finger up his calf. "Tell them you destroyed its physical form and this is all that remains. They will sense the energy signature. They will believe you because... well, because you are holding the proof."
Kai examined the shard. "It's a good plan. They might doubt a student could kill it... but I don't give a fuck what they think. The evidence is right here."
He pocketed the shard.
"So," Kai looked down at her. "What now?"
"Now I go back," Ahena sighed, standing up. Her body was already beginning to fade, turning translucent as she prepared to shift back to the Demon Realm. "The contract is sealed. You can summon me whenever you have... needs."
