Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Why Go to Sea Again

Eight years before the Sky Island arc, after Eneru destroyed his hometown of Birka, he overthrew Gan Fall through violent means and crowned himself the new God of Sky Island.

However, Eneru, who is currently the same age as Seven, is still wasting time in his hometown of Birka.

As the saying goes, a step ahead means staying ahead at every step.

Seven chose to win over the Skypieans and negotiate with the Sky Islanders ruled by Gan Fall, using both peace and force to take over the entire Sky Island with a two-pronged approach.

In truth, Sky Island was simply too suitable as a base.

Above the White Sea, at an altitude of ten thousand meters above sea level, there was no need to worry about being wanted by the World Government or being arrested by the Marines led by Garp.

Looking at the entire pirate world, there is no place more suitable for cultivation than Sky Island.

Moreover, there are unique natural creations of Sky Island with supernatural powers, such as Wind Dials, Laser Dials, and Reject Dials—all of which are points!

Of course, the prerequisite is to be crowned the God of Sky Island.

"How about I become your God?"

Kalpa froze in place. If Roger wanted to be their God, it would be barely acceptable, but Seven, aside from being a good cook, didn't seem to have the qualifications to be a God.

"Seven, you know our traditions."

The Shandians advocate force; if one wants to become the leader, they must defeat all the warriors in the tribe and become the strongest Great Warrior of the clan.

"Then what are we waiting for!"

Seven was not one to dilly-dally; taking over Sky Island a day earlier meant starting the path of the strong a day sooner.

"Come and fight."

Thunderstorms resounded across the sky, with white, yellow, blue, red, and purple lightning intertwining, looking like the apocalypse had arrived or the wrath of a god.

When on the sea, Seven summoned lightning from the thunderclouds in the sky to strike targets precisely.

But now, the thunderstorms came not only from above Sky Island but also from the White Sea where Sky Island was located.

In short, there was lightning from both above and below.

In a version of the world without Haki, the deterrent power shown by Logia Devil Fruits far exceeded that of Paramecia and Zoan types.

The Rumble-Rumble Fruit was the best among them.

For a group of Skypiean warriors who didn't even have Haki, the Rumble-Rumble Fruit's ability was enough to deal with them; there was no need to use Conqueror's Haki at all.

It was just like the pressure Eneru brought to everyone except Luffy when he first appeared.

The Skypiean warriors, led by Kalpa, stared at all this in dazed shock; such a divine miracle caused fear to rise in many warriors' hearts.

Even so, there was no lack of brave men who dared to face the majesty of the lightning, and they drew their blades one after another.

"We are not afraid of you!"

Fear is a biological instinct, and courage is the hymn of humanity... but in this unequal battle, courage alone was not enough.

With just one encounter, hundreds of Skypiean warriors fell to the ground, and that was only because Seven was holding back.

Otherwise, the Shandians would have faced total annihilation.

Devil Fruits are just that unreasonable.

The lightning in the sky dissipated, and Seven sat down to continue the pirate crew's internal banquet.

"Mihawk, have you thought of a name for the pirate crew?"

Mihawk put down his wine cup: "Before deciding on the name of the pirate crew, I want to know—"

"Barzeb Seven, a man like you, who has already been to the Final Island and knows what the ONE PIECE is, why do you choose to go to sea again?"

Regarding Seven, this man who was like a mystery, Mihawk had many doubts in his heart.

If possible, he even wanted to pry open this guy's head to see what secrets were hidden inside.

Seven drank a full cup of wine, and without any pause, his Conqueror's Haki surged into the sky, knocking out every living creature on the entire island.

Only Mihawk remained unaffected.

Some words are only for those on the inside to hear.

"Mihawk, I did indeed reach Raftel with the Captain and the others, and I witnessed the truth of what the world calls the ONE PIECE."

"But knowing the ONE PIECE... doesn't mean the journey is over, because freedom is not an answer, but a state of being."

"Just like reading all the sea charts doesn't mean you've experienced the wind and waves of every sea."

"The ONE PIECE told me what the world could become, but it didn't dictate that it must become that way.

True freedom isn't choosing between two set options; it's creating a third route that even Joy Boy never imagined."

"I choose to go to sea to breathe that salty, free sea breeze.

To raise a glass with new companions on unknown islands, just as we are doing now.

To prove that a person's dreams will never end just because they know the answer.

Even knowing everything, I can still embrace this imperfect world with the same curiosity and passion I had on my first voyage.

So, don't let the Final Island define our journey. Where we go is decided only by our will in this moment and the sea breeze ahead."

"Mihawk, this is my freedom."

Since the Roger Pirates disbanded, Seven had never poured his heart out to anyone like this.

Perhaps, this is the meaning of a companion.

Mihawk raised his glass: "To freedom."

"To freedom," Seven raised his glass in response.

"My dear Vice Captain, now can you tell this Captain what our pirate crew is called?"

"How about Inazuma?" Mihawk asked.

"Why that?"

"The lightning that appears during a thunderstorm."

Seven shook his head: "It's too specific. The pirate crew isn't just my crew; we are a whole. Let's not do personality cults."

"How about Daybreak? It implies that the darkness is passing and light and hope are coming."

"Daybreak... isn't that unlucky?"

Mihawk's hand holding the wine cup tightened slightly.

"Glimmer? Morning Light? Dawn?"

Seven swirled his wine cup, unable to help complaining inwardly: Dawn? Why not call it Andy Lau!

Regarding the name of the pirate crew, Captain Barzeb Seven and Vice Captain Dracule Mihawk entered into a heated argument.

"freedom?"

"Too blunt."

"Stars?"

"Too distant."

"Sun?"

"Someone already took that."

Finally, at a certain point, Mihawk gave a cold snort and stood up, drawing the black blade yoru from his back. He had realized this guy was doing it on purpose.

"Barzeb, draw your blade."

Seven quickly waved his hands, ending his thoughts of teasing Mihawk: "See, you're getting impatient again."

"Think of one more, I promise not to object."

Mihawk took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to hack this dog of a Captain to death: "How about Morning Star?"

"The solitary Venus shining in the eastern sky during the darkest hour before Dawn, standing fast through the long night, guiding the way for the lost."

"It represents hope, guidance, and watching over."

Seven looked up at the brightest star in the eastern night sky and silently gave a thumbs up.

"Mihawk, this name has a very high artistic quality."

"As expected of a man of culture."

"Then this Captain now announces: The Morning Star Pirates... are established!!!"
