"Well, the Zenin Clan is one of the Three Great Jujutsu Clans," I said slowly, making sure that Shizuka and Rika were truly paying attention to my explanation. "That clan is known for being strict, highly disciplined, and also extremely cruel in the way they treat their own members."
I tilted my head slightly before continuing.
"They are very obsessed with power and bloodline. For them, a person's value is almost entirely determined by how strong their Jujutsu ability is." I paused for a moment, giving them time to digest my explanation before adding the next sentence. "And coincidentally, two twins were recently born there."
Shizuka, who had been sitting quietly at the side of the table, began to pay closer attention to the conversation. Her gaze narrowed slightly, showing that she was beginning to understand the direction of our discussion.
After all, even though they had been involved with the world of Jujutsu for quite some time, their knowledge about the structure and traditions of the major clans was still fairly limited.

I stared at her in disbelief.
"Hah?" I frowned. "Why would you think something like that?"
My voice sounded genuinely confused. I truly didn't understand how this conversation had ended up going in that direction.
On the other side, Rika, who had been standing near the table with her arms crossed the entire time, finally spoke. Her expression remained calm as usual, but there was a faint hint of sarcasm in her tone.
"Anyway," Rika said slowly, "not long ago you also brought two twin girls who have connections to the Jujutsu world."
As she said that, Rika briefly glanced toward the hallway that led to the room where Mimiko and Nanako usually stayed. The glance only lasted a moment, but it was clear enough to show what she meant.
"On top of that, you said you wanted to make those two girls our children." Rika then looked straight at me again.

I stared at both of them for several seconds without saying anything. My head felt slightly dizzy as I tried to understand how they had reached that conclusion from my earlier explanation.
Meanwhile, Mei Mei, who had been sitting quietly while observing our conversation, finally let out a small laugh.

Mei Mei's laughter was soft, yet it was clearly audible in the quiet room.
She covered her mouth with the back of her hand, her eyes narrowing with an amused expression as she looked at me.
"If Kenji wants to have many children…" Mei Mei said in a teasing tone, "I can help you, Kenji."
A faint smile appeared on Mei Mei's face, as if she was truly enjoying the situation that was unfolding.
Hearing all of that, I could only let out a long sigh.
My goal was actually very simple—just to do something that I believed was right.
Yet somehow, this conversation had made me look like someone with strange intentions.
"I did say that I wanted to make Mimiko and Nanako our children," I finally said calmly.
I shook my head lightly. "But that doesn't mean I want to have many daughters."
I looked at them one by one, making sure they were really paying attention to what I was saying.
"You're just misunderstanding." I then continued my explanation in a more relaxed tone. "I only want to do what's right."
My eyes briefly glanced toward the hallway that led to the other room.
"Besides, the age gap between us and those babies is very large." I crossed my arms in front of my chest.
"So when we grow up later and decide to adopt them as our children, it will make much more sense," I said with a faint smile, "compared to adopting them as our younger sisters."
Shizuka looked at me for a few moments, her expression still showing a bit of suspicion. Her eyebrows were slightly furrowed, as if she was considering whether my explanation made sense or not.
"Hm… Really?" Shizuka asked in a serious tone.
"Of course." I immediately nodded without hesitation, trying to show that I was truly confident in what I had said.
A few moments later, Mei Mei finally stood up from her chair. The wooden chair made a soft sound as she pushed it backward.
"Then I'll try to negotiate with the Zenin Clan," Mei Mei said casually.
She then added with a faint smile.
"But they might ask for a large number of Cursed Tools." Mei Mei paused for a moment before continuing. "Or they might not be willing to negotiate at all."
After saying that, Mei Mei immediately walked toward the door of the room.
A few seconds later, Mei Mei's figure disappeared behind the door, leaving the three of us still inside the room.
The atmosphere slowly became quiet again. Only a light silence remained inside the temporary headquarters, while the earlier conversation continued to echo faintly in my mind.
