Allen stepped closer again, his presence wrapping around me before I even realized it. Then he leaned in slightly, his nose brushing against my neck as he took in a slow breath. I felt like my entire body was about to go up in flames from the heat emanating from him.
"You smell so good," he murmured. "I could just eat you up."
I felt my face heat instantly, but I didn't pull away. Instead, I leaned into him. Where the boldness and audacity came from, I had no idea but right now, I didn't want to overthink anything or hold back on what I wanted. It's been one hell of a week and I knew there was no point in denying that I had missed him.
"Do you mean that literally or figuratively?" I asked, trying to sound normal.
"Both," he replied, his voice low and smooth.
That didn't help my heartbeat at all.
Before I could say anything else, he stepped back and moved toward the pool. He slipped into the water first, the surface barely rippling around him.
