I sat up slowly on the massive mattress, pulling the smooth silk blankets up to my chest. My heart was racing so hard and I felt so anxious, matter of fact I'd been feeling anxious since the day Allen proposed, but I'd been trying my best to hide it. I couldn't do it anymore. I was barely able to sleep last night.
Today was the day. Today was literally my wedding day.
I looked over at the empty space beside me on the bed. For the first time in days, Allen wasn't lying there wrapped around my waist. After a long, agonizing evening filled with endless convincing, not-so playful arguments, and heavy bargaining, I had finally managed to convince Allen that we needed to stay completely apart on the eve of our wedding.
