Thunder roared overhead. A howl sounded at the statue. I turned, and this huge pure white wolf stood over the altar. I backed up, eyes wide. Mom said her family had white wolves, but thought they were extinct from her bloodline since no one showed any signs. But then again, the white wolf stays hidden as a defense tactic in every test there is. the four old friends' scents grew potent; a fifth filled my nose. five mates. I can't! This is too much, I can't! I ran out, my wolf lunged behind me, following as I jumped through the push-out window, leaving behind my bag.
"Wait! Rose!" I heard Drew, Markus, Anny, and Selene were all calling after me. My wolf rushed ahead of me in a white mist of snow and glowing eyes. I kept running till the harsh rushing river stopped me. I slid to a stop. my wolf turned physical; the four others came running with their wolves. I was trapped, and the others cornered me. The twins had that obsessive look in their eyes like before.
"Rose, you're coming home," Drew said while his and Mark's wolves pawed at my legs, making whimper noises. Anny and Selene kneeled at my feet, their wolves giving puppy eyes. the fifth scent was close, but I couldn't tell from where. I didn't know what to do. I felt dizzy and lightheaded, looking at them. I couldn't handle this. My vision went dark.
"ROSE!!!" everyone screamed as I fell unconscious. I didn't feel my body hit the ground; I just felt myself go unconscious.
