"See you around, Hobin! One of the girls screamed as she crossed the road. Hobin watched them enter the next street and a warm smile appeared on his face.
"She seems nice". He muttered and heard the glasses chime.
"AND HOW DO YOU FEEL?
He thought for a while and cracked a half smile. He was indeed happy. Hobin knew he hadn't really achievable much but it felt good to be the one looked upon from a downward posture.
The girls had thanked him after rescuing them from that supposed pervert, who wanted more than money. It was until Hobin had finished fighting, that he realized how gorgeous they were. Dressed up all in their high school skirts and baggy sweaters. Hobin scoffed and muttered;
"Glad I could help them".
As he turned to leave for home, he heard the glasses vibrate. A floating screen appeared immediately.
"DAILY QUEST: SAVE THE KID FROM THE MAD MOB GANG.
REWARD: +5 COURAGE. +12 STRENGTH. +6 SKILL. +17 AGILITY".
Hobin eyes lit up. A chance to upgrade his agility had presented itself to him. Although he was already tired, he still seek to go. He was fired up and felt he was up to the task. Hobin asked his combat system for the address and headed there immediately.
On his arrival, Hobin realized that when XL said mob gang, it meant five young boys who were very strong and we're bullying a younger kid. Right there on the street, the boy was getting bullied by these boys. Hobin stepped in immediately, pulling the boy right out of their midst.
"Hey! How dare you? One of them snapped.
"You got some balls stepping in here like that". Another followed.
They spaced out showcasing their dominance and number. Hobin made the boy go behind him, while he set himself up for a fight.
"What right do you have to bully this young boy. What did he ever do to you?! Hobin shouted at them, but got a laugh as a response.
"Why do you care? A boy in the middle asked in a less concerned voice.
"Because unlike you, I have a heart. I feel the pain of others". Hobin replied.
"So…why should I care? The boy replied and his group laughed.
"I don't expect wild dogs like you to understand. That's why I need to wop you into shape". Hobin snapped and the others got angry.
"Did you just call us dogs? Another asked in a low voice. "Guys…let's get him". The boy said and they all threw themselves at him.
Hobin weaved and countered the first two their punches. Standing in their way and dodging their fist to let it land on another person. Hobin gave out two quick jab, and a close line to lay three boys to the ground. The other two came close to touching him, but he moved quickly and brushed one, before knocking the other.
"He's fast". One of them muttered.
"So…We'll be faster". The boy in the middle snapped again.
They launched another attack which led to the same outcome. Hobin was grinding, drilling and loosing his fist in their chest, stomach and jawline. He heard a slamming sound, that gave up an opening. Before he could realize what happened, Hobin had one of the kids punch him.
He fell to the floor, realizing he had been hit behind by the boy in the middle, who picked up a stick to the fight. Hobin attempted to get back up, but the boys rushed to him. Using bats to try and get the better of him. Some made a valuable attempts, while the others were repelled back and slammed into the ground.
Hobin pushed back, already panting. The little boy feared for his life as his savior Hobin was already bleeding from the bat strikes. Only three boys stood as the other two had been knocked out cold.
"Fighting against boys with bat is hard". Hobin muttered and heard the glasses chimed.
"INDEED. THE DIFFERENCE IS IN THEIR ANNOYING NATURE TO NOT GIVE UP AND THEIR NUMBER. THEY ATTACK TOGETHER, MAKING IT DIFFICULT. NOT TO MENTION THEIR USE OF BATS".
"Oh! You're still here". Hobin muttered and chuckled. He was expecting the glasses to be smashed by from the kids' bat. "Any ideas-
"WAIT. SOMEONE'S COMING". The glasses chimed.
Hobin turned to see a huge figure standing beside him. He wore a black top, baggy trousers and a bummer jacket. A cross chain ran round his neck and rings on his fingers. He had already taken off his jacket and hanged it back his back, like one of those cool characters.
"Having trouble? He asked looking at Hobin.
"No…I got this". Hobin said acting stubborn.
"Yeah…What you got is a bleeding head and a soon to be fractured ribs, if you don't stop". He snapped.
"And what let you handle it". Hobin scoffed
"I didn't say I wanted to…but...". He paused and cracked a half smile. "Who'da hell turns down a fight? He asked and tossed his jacket to Hobin. Hobin watched him close in on the boys and urged him to step away from the scene.
The boys laughed, calling Hobin a chicken and saying how they would beat the man, who stood before them. But before they could even move, the man grabbed the one of them and slammed him into the ground like a dirty laundry. This shocked them all, they wished to attack again, but the same result unfolded. Each and very last one, was beaten to the very core. Slammed, jammed, punched, tossed and kicked.
They laid there groaning in pain, while some were unconscious. Hobin stood in shocked as he couldn't believe this. The man came out without a scratch. He took his jacket back from Hobin and wore it.
"Not bad kid. You actually held your own against these maggots". He said and took out money from his pocket. He handed it to Hobin, who accepted. "You should get yourself checked up. Also…buy something to eat with that kid. You both tired, I guess". He said and turned to leave.
"W-Wait! Hobin let it slip out rather slowly. The man turned to look at him. "Who are you? Hobin asked in a desperate voice.
"Me? He replied and scoffed. "The name's Jon. Jon Gentosai".
