Synopsis

Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1 - THE BIRTH OF THE THIRD PRINCE

My name is Samuel Silva, I am 17 years old and I live in the city of São Paulo, in a nation called Brazil. Today is the first day of school: February 2, 2025. I am already very late. I ran as fast as I could, otherwise I would already get a warning on the very first day...

I managed to arrive, but it was already too late.

You there! - shouted the History teacher.

Yes, teacher... - I replied in a low voice, almost murmuring.

To the principal’s office, now!

Yes, teacher... - I replied with a tone of sadness.

I kept walking through the school. Long corridors and several classrooms. I looked out the window and saw some classmates jumping over the wall to skip class.

I went down the first staircase toward the principal’s office. That was when everything happened...

I tripped. I tried to hold onto the handrail, but it was already too late. My fingers slipped. And everything went into slow motion.

I felt the air leave me.

The pain was sharp. Cruel. My head hit the floor hard.

Warm blood ran down my face.

Aaaaah! - I screamed... or tried to.

The world started drifting away. The voices, the footsteps, the screams... everything went dark.

I couldn’t see anything but an immense darkness. That was when I saw a light — and I went straight toward it.

As soon as I managed to open my eyes, I was in a different place. Different from everything that existed in my world.

It was a beautiful, enormous and illuminated place. Until I noticed something strange: my body was small and tight.

I was in the arms of a beautiful woman, with white hair and red eyes.

And I... I was a child. I also had white hair and red eyes.

That was when it hit me.

I had reincarnated.

And that woman... was my mother.

Seriously, I was very surprised. So this whole thing about life after death really exists? But the coolest thing is that, in this world... there is magic!

Three years passed since the incident. Now I am a three-year-old child.

I discovered that I was born into the royal family. I am the third prince. My father is the current king, and they say he is the most powerful man in the kingdom in the art of magic.

But there is a problem...

Or rather, a lot of rumors.

A lot of people go around saying that I am a failure. A low-ranking prince. Without talent. Without magic. Without a future as king.

Did you see that? - whispered one of the servants. - They say he has no magical aptitude at all... A low-ranking prince. A failure.

I pretended not to hear.

But the servant’s words pierced me like thorns.

"Low-ranking prince... Without talent... Failure..."

Is that really my destiny in this new world?

No...

I will prove that everyone is wrong.

My name is Ray Von Elseria.

And the power that runs through my veins...

...will change the destiny of this world.

With or without support, I will reach the top.

I will show everyone the true meaning of existence.

Three days passed since I made my decision.

And that was how I began my training.

The only one I could trust... was my father: Asgalion von Elseria, the king of this kingdom.

My older brothers, Albert von Elseria and Richard von Elseria, were known throughout the kingdom — praised, respected, revered.

And me?

I was just the third prince.

The symbol of failure.

With every step I took on the training field, the stares came like spears.

There he goes... the failure of the throne...

But my father said nothing. He only observed.

And that was enough for me to keep going.

Maybe my father was just observing me...

Maybe he wanted to see how I would deal with the people’s criticism.

As he always says:

“A king must know how to deal with his kingdom. And if there are people who don’t like you... show leadership. Show confidence.”

But that’s nonsense! - I whispered, clenching my fists. - I will show everyone that I can be respected too.

Behind me, I heard familiar footsteps.

My brothers.

Albert von Elseria and Richard von Elseria.

They hated me.

Not for something I did, but because my father — the king himself — seemed to have more hope in me than in them.

Well, well... brother Ray. Training? How admirable.

Albert approached, with that tone of voice dripping with venom.

I hope I’m not disturbing you - he said, feigning humility, while Richard laughed in the background.

What do you want, Albert? Richard? - I asked, with narrowed eyes.

Nothing. I’m just watching how a failure continues to be a failure. - Albert laughed mockingly. - Hahahaha!

The “failure” who has more determination than two spoiled and petty brothers... - I replied, crossing my arms - ...who can’t even hold a sword without a servant’s help.

Their smiles disappeared for a moment.

Oh, yeah? - said Richard, stepping closer. - Then let’s see what you’re made of.

A magic duel. Tomorrow, at noon.

You against the two of us, little brother.

Perfect. - I smiled. - I accept your game.

Albert burst into laughter as if he had already won.

It will be fun to see a useless person being crushed in public. Don’t miss it, majesty of failure. Hahaha!

After that, I set the sword aside and started training magic.

My father watched me from afar, silent. But I could see a slight smile of pride.

Maybe because he saw that I was facing my own challenges. Without running away. Without giving up.

I started with dark magic — the element I had the most affinity with.

Black Mist! - I shouted, trying to perfect the technique I had created myself some time ago.

I spent exactly twenty-two hours without rest.

Training.

Polishing every incantation.

I could use all elements, but I had no talent with any of them.

Even so... I continued.

The next day, at the stroke of noon, there they were: Albert and Richard.

And along with them, an immense audience from the kingdom — all cheering for them.

See, failure? - shouted Albert, smiling with disdain. - Nobody is cheering for you! Hahahaha!

But then...

My Brazilian blood spoke louder.

I don’t need an audience to crush two worms! - I shouted, staring at the two with a mocking smile.

They attacked first.

Albert conjured several spheres of fire — as hot as the sun of Bahia, from my old world.

Celestial Fireball! - he shouted, all showy. Almost like a circus clown.

Meanwhile, Richard activated a speed enchantment. In the blink of an eye, he appeared behind me...

BAM!

A dry punch to my face.

I was thrown far away. The pain exploded like a hammer strike inside my skull.

And they... laughed.

The crowd booed me, insulted me.

Useless!

Third prince of nothing!

In this world, being the third prince... is like being the maid’s fifth child.

Nobody was afraid to humiliate me. Not even in front of the king.

Albert raised his hands, preparing multiple enchantments with fire and wind.

I want to see you escape this, failure!

Richard! That attack... now!

Richard summoned the Spirit of Light, launching a barrage of shining spears.

Albert, in turn, fused fire and wind, creating an elemental magical bomb.

You lunatics! This will kill me! - I shouted, trying to retreat.

And who cares? - roared Albert. - You’re already finished!

I tried to move. But at that instant...

Something held me.

Earth magic — cast by someone in the crowd.

My legs sank, and I was stuck.

No...!

The explosion hit me head-on.

The pain was insane. Bones cracked. Breathing stopped.

My arms trembled. I could barely move.

The pain was unbearable.

My entire body screamed.

Burning arms, broken ribs, mouth full of blood.

But... I was still breathing.

I’m still alive...

The crowd laughed. My brothers smiled, triumphant.

It’s over, Ray. - said Albert, turning his back. - You are a mistake.

Richard snorted and spat on the ground.

As expected from trash.

People began to disperse.

That was when... I moved my arm.

Then, my leg.

I staggered. I trembled.

But I stood up.

Th-that boy... is standing?! - shouted someone from the crowd.

That’s impossible! He should be unconscious!

Blood ran down my chin, but my eyes burned.

I looked at the two of them.

It’s... not over yet.

The sky grew cloudy.

The wind stopped for an instant.

A black aura — dense, ancient and oppressive — began to form around me.

My eyes glowed red.

Wh-what kind of magic is that?! - exclaimed Albert, stepping back.

This... isn’t common magic... - murmured Richard, trembling.

At the back of the crowd, my father watched, motionless.

A discreet smile appeared on his lips.

Ancestral Magic... - he murmured.

My knees trembled.

The pain still throbbed in every bone.

But... there was something different now.

A sensation.

As if something... was calling to me.

My heart beat faster, not from fear... but in response.

It was as if an ancient echo was awakening inside my chest.

I closed my eyes, by instinct.

And then I felt it.

An energy... gigantic, chaotic, deep like the universe itself.

It was hot and cold at the same time.

It shone like a thousand suns and at the same time was darker than the night.

Wh-what... is this...? - I murmured, as the ground beneath my feet began to tremble slightly.

A black aura, with multicolored reflections, began to rise around me, in slow and intense spirals.

The wind cut through the battlefield.

The spectators fell silent.

My brothers took a step back, instinctively.

It was at that moment that, in the background, the king’s voice echoed, low enough for almost no one to hear:

...This is not common magic...

A pause.

He narrowed his eyes, observing my body wrapped in that nameless aura.

This is the... Multiverse Energy.

The magic created by the... First King.

He tilted his head slightly. And, for an instant... smiled.

The crowd still did not understand what was happening.

But he understood.

And I... was beginning to understand too.

That power... was mine.

And it was only just beginning to awaken.

The energy...

It entered inside me.

Not like a spell, not like a common power.

It merged with my essence.

My brothers, still laughing, advanced. They thought the awakening had failed.

All that... for nothing?! - mocked Albert. - You’re still a failure!

For a moment I even felt something dangerous... - said Richard, smiling. - But he’s still useless!

Both attacked me together, fists wrapped in flaming magical currents.

They thought they had hit me.

But then...

What?! - Albert’s eyes widened.

No... I can’t touch him! - shouted Richard, stepping back.

An invisible force field surrounded my body, vibrating with the same strange and cosmic energy.

I opened my eyes, silent, and raised my hands to the sky.

A vortex of light and shadow formed above.

And then...

A huge black hole appeared in the air.

The wind went crazy. The ground shook.

Objects, stones, leaves, even parts of the stands began to be pulled into it.

I-is this a spell?! - shouted one of the soldiers.

No, this is... something beyond! - shouted another.

That was when the king intervened.

With a single gesture of his hand, he nullified the spell before everything was consumed.

The energy disappeared. The force field vanished.

And I...

Fell to my knees.

I was vulnerable.

Without hesitation, my brothers took advantage of the weakness.

A final blow hit me.

And consciousness... faded.

The crowd cheered for the two’s “victory”.

But...

The king did not celebrate.

He only looked at me. In silence.

With the eyes of someone who knows...

That something gigantic is about to awaken.

After that duel, I woke up in my father’s room.

The moonlight softly entered through the window, and there, by my side, my mother — Elys Von Elseria — was asleep in a chair.

It seemed she had been there for hours, waiting for me to wake up.

That was when the door opened.

My father entered, with a serious face and hands clasped behind his back.

You’re awake... Good. - he said, with a firm voice.

After dinner, I want us to talk alone.

I nodded, even still feeling some pain.

Yes, father.

Rest. This night will be long. - he added, before leaving in silence.

Upon hearing his voice, my mother woke up.

When she saw me awake, her eyes filled with tears.

Aaaah, my little son! Are you okay?! - she said, almost crushing me in a hug. - Mommy was so worried! I’ll give those ill-mannered brothers of yours a good scolding when I find them!

It’s okay, mom... no need to exaggerate. They went too far, yes... but because of that I... became stronger.

She paused for a second, looking into my eyes.

Oh... really? In that case, they get away with it this time. - she said with a little smile - But make sure you rest, my love. You need to recover your strength.

Okay, mom...

When I left the room for dinner, I saw my brothers.

The two... were completely beaten up.

Bruises on their faces, arms bandaged...

I laughed inside.

Hahaha...

Looks like dad gave them a good beating.

I finally realized: he didn’t give special treatment just because they were the first princes.

I sat at the table.

Everyone was there: my father, my mother... and the two idiots.

The atmosphere was heavy, but the smell of food almost made it seem like a normal dinner.

You did well in the duel, Ray. - said my father, breaking the silence. - Even though you lost, you showed something... rare.

My mother crossed her arms and shot a furious glare at my brothers.

It was far too dangerous! - she exclaimed. - They almost killed their own brother!

She slammed her hand on the table.

You degenerates! Did you really want to kill Ray over an idiotic argument?! Apologize right now!

Albert twisted his lips with disdain.

Tsk... We didn’t do anything wrong. We just taught him the lesson he deserved.

That’s right. - Richard added. - He couldn’t even control his own power and still fought dirty!

Silence fell for a second.

Then...

Quiet. - said my father.

His voice was firm. Low.

But it carried a tone of contained rage that froze the hall.

You two... embarrassed me.

The sound of cutlery ceased. No one dared speak anymore.

Right after dinner, my father asked me to meet him at the knights’ training field.

Maybe he wanted to tell me something away from prying ears.

Ray... - he called.

Yes, father?

Meet me at the knights’ training field.

As you wish, father.

I went there, and he was already waiting.

Standing, in the middle of the silent field.

You know, my son... you awakened something very dangerous. And very rare as well.

I... awakened?

Yes. - he paused, and looked at me seriously. - An ancestral magic, created by the First King of Elseria.

Ancestral magic...?

It is capable of drawing energy from the universe itself. - he explained. - That is... it is practically limitless.

My heart froze.

I remembered the sensation...

That infinite aura. That force...

I thought it was just a dream... - I murmured.

Do not tell this to anyone, Ray. - he said firmly. - Or you will be hunted. Executed.

I understand, father. I will keep this a secret.

Then, he did something he had never done before.

He hugged me.

A true hug. Strong.

The warmth of that moment...

Not even in my past life had anyone ever hugged me like that.

But, hidden in the nearby bushes...

Albert and Richard were spying on us.

And they heard everything.

A malicious smile appeared on their lips.

Did you hear that, Richard?

I did. And it seems we’ll have to take some action.

Time to dispose of our little brother... hahahaha.

The next day, I woke up with a strange premonition.

When I looked out my bedroom window...

Several guards were marching.

But not in formation.

They were armed. Enraged.

Shouting my name.

We have to kill him! - shouted one of the soldiers.

That’s right! He can’t stay alive with such dangerous magic!

He’ll rebel, he’ll destroy the kingdom!

It was a rebellion... against me.

And the culprits...

Were my own brothers.

My mother rushed into the room, desperate.

Her eyes were teary. Her face, pale.

Ray, my son... you have to run away!

Mom?! What’s happening?!

They found out about your powers... and that you still can’t control them.

She was breathing with difficulty, fighting against panic.

The people are in panic, the nobles are pressuring the council... And your father is trying to contain the rebellion, but it’s not working.

She grabbed my shoulders tightly.

They want to kill you, Ray. Now!

But mom...

Don’t argue! - she shouted, her voice shaking. - Come with me, now!

We ran through the dark corridors of the palace.

The distant shouts echoed like war drums.

She took me to a secret passage, hidden behind a tapestry.

Your father built this... for the worst possible scenario.

She pushed me into the narrow passage.

Listen, Ray...

Mom...

Don’t come back. No matter what happens, move forward. You need to live.

She hugged me tightly. For the last time.

We’ll be fine... now go!

I ran. Without looking back.

The passage ended in a dark alley in the center of the city.

People looked at me with fear.

It’s him... the third prince...

He fled the palace!

Run!

The news had already spread.

I ignored the stares. I kept running.

Until the border of the kingdom of Elseria.

That was when I came across two figures standing in the path.

My brothers.

Albert. Richard.

Well, well... - Albert arched a perverse smile. - If it isn’t our fugitive little brother.

All of this... was you, wasn’t it? - I murmured, trying to control my breathing.

But of course it was, you useless thing. - Richard crossed his arms, his gaze sharp as a blade.

We heard the whole conversation with dad...

...and we thought: why not cause an uproar and earn the right to kill you personally? - Albert finished, with a gleam of cruelty in his eyes.

The castle of Elseria, my home since birth, was never warm to me. It wasn’t the cutting mountain winds nor the cold stone walls... it was the ice of the people who lived there — especially my brothers. I, Ray Von Elseria, the third prince, was just the burden of the royal family. The one born without talent for magic. The one who should not exist.

And now, just having turned four years old, they were ready to take my life.

You bastards... even though I’m only four years old now... - my voice came out trembling, but not from fear. It was anger.

And so what? Yesterday was your birthday and we only had dinner together because we were forced to. - Albert said with such intense disdain that it seemed to spit every word.

That’s right, you bastard. Now nobody will know how the third prince died. - Richard smiled, as if savoring a premature victory.

Anger and sadness mixed in my chest. Deep down, I knew the answer to “why” they did this: no matter the world or reality, human beings are filthy. They always have been.

Enough talk, Richard. Let’s kill this useless thing once and for all.

With pleasure, Albert...

They advanced. Albert’s sword, capable of nullifying any ability or enchantment, shone with a deadly tone. Richard’s, which drained mana and returned it as strength to its wielder, vibrated as if it yearned for my blood. Albert conjured a sphere of fire so hot that it warped the air around it, while Richard fused it with pure light, creating a burst of energy that illuminated the entire inner courtyard.

I remained still. There was nothing I could do... ...except accept my death once again.

But... when did I become so mentally weak? I was never like this. I always faced challenges head-on. Maybe... I was just tired.

Then, the idea emerged: Fake my own death. But, to do that, I would have to fight.

Black Role!

The darkness condensed and spun, forming a black hole that swallowed their attack as if it were nothing. I saw both of their eyes widen. I drew my sword and advanced. The clash of steel echoed through the courtyard, my legs burned with effort, but I kept going.

Until the moment came. They raised their hands, joining forces into a colossal sphere of energy, greater than any previous attack.

It’s your end, Ray! Hahahaha!

And I... was ready to disappear.

The attack hit directly. An explosion of light and magic consumed everything around. But, at the last instant, I managed to move. Too fast to be seen. Fast enough to escape real death.

I pretended to be hit. I left only ashes... and silence.

Did we manage...? - Richard asked, panting.

Yes, Richard... we killed him.

Little did they know that I was still alive. But now... I needed to disappear.

I fled that country. I crossed borders, forests and mountains. I spent weeks wandering aimlessly, trying to understand what I would do with my life. A dead prince cannot simply return.

Meanwhile, in my former home, my brothers began the perfect lie.

They told our parents that they had followed me to “help with the escape”. That I had slipped off a cliff... and been devoured by a magical creature.

Ah... n-no... it can’t be... my son... is dead?! - my mother cried.

Her scream pierced the castle walls. The servants broke into tears, feeling the queen’s pain.

How is this possible...? - my father asked, eyes vacant.

Forgive us, father... it was a black wyvern. Very powerful... we couldn’t do anything. - Albert replied, with a trembling voice.

I understand... - murmured the king, lowering his head. - Then there was nothing you could have done.

But I knew.

Even with gloomy faces and careful words... Their eyes shone. A discreet smile hid beneath the false sorrow.

They were satisfied. Satisfied with my death.

After two weeks of wandering without stopping — facing hunger, cold, monsters and sleepless nights — I finally saw something different on the horizon: tall walls, with flags I did not recognize. A city. Outside my kingdom. Outside that hell.

I stopped for a moment, taking a deep breath. A new life could begin there. Without the weight of being “the useless third prince”. I walked to the main gate, but was stopped by a guard.

Sir, could you show your identification?

Damn... Identification? I’m not an adventurer nor a merchant. Just a fugitive prince.

So... I kind of lost my adventurer card.

The guard’s eyes widened.

Lost it!? You know that’s serious, kid? Come on, we’ll arrange another one right now.

I was escorted to the adventurers’ guild of the kingdom of Lancis. There, a tall and robust man, with gray beard, received me.

This is the kid? Strange... I’ve never seen you before, young man. How old are you?

Luckily, in this world it is possible to register as an adventurer from the age of four — although nobody sends children that young on missions.

I am four years old, sir.

Four?! And what were you doing outside the city?

I... was on a mission.

A mission? We don’t send children for that!

It’s just that I’m pretty strong, uncle. And I have looooots of mana.

He narrowed his eyes.

Really? Let’s measure your capabilities. Bring the mana meter!

They brought a polished crystal sphere, so beautiful that it reflected light as if it had stars trapped inside.

Wow... it’s beautiful!

And sturdy. - said the guild master. - Let’s see what you’re capable of.

I placed my hand on the crystal, trying to stay calm. Damn... I lied about having lots of mana... this is going to be embarrassing.

Then, something happened.

A dry crack. Cracks spread across the surface. And, in a second, the crystal shattered.

Wh... what?! - The guild master stepped back, pale. - How can a child that age have so much power?!

The knights exchanged incredulous looks. I myself didn’t understand it.

Wait... I don’t have all that power... do I? I thought about what I awakened days earlier. About the absurd wave of mana I felt running through my body. Could it be... that?

They took me to a testing field far from the city. It wasn’t just any field — it was reserved for S-rank mages. If my mana had broken the crystal, they weren’t going to risk doing the test in the capital.

That’s it, kid! Go ahead!

We’ll be here in case anything happens!

I looked at them, who were a thousand meters away.

Oh, sure... with a thousand meters of distance you’ll help a lot, you lunatics!

I took a deep breath. The test consisted of demonstrating mastery over all known elements: Water, Fire, Wind, Earth, Ice, Light, Darkness... and, finally, the unique element that each being in this world carries.

I raised my hand and began.

Water Ball! A translucent blue orb formed, spinning like a miniature whirlpool before exploding into a fine rain.

Fire Ball! Living flames condensed and cast a hot flare into the air.

Wind Blast! An invisible blade cut the grass as if it were paper.

Black Mist! A dense and opaque smoke covered part of the field, swallowing the light.

Ice Spear! A crystalline spike shot forward at speed, shattering on impact.

Light Spear! A golden beam pierced the sky like a sacred lightning bolt.

Earth Wall! The ground rose like a massive wall, solid as steel.

From afar, I heard the guild master.

He’s doing very well...

Yeah... even though he’s just a child, his talent is absurd. - said the gate guard.

But then came the moment of my final test. The power I had awakened recently.

I closed my eyes. Took a deep breath.

Black Role!

The sky distorted. A circle of darkness opened above us, spinning and sucking the air with a deafening roar. The wind turned into a torrent, pulling dust, stones, trees... even the light seemed to escape.

Wh-what is that, boss?! - shouted one of the soldiers, clinging to the ground.

I don’t know! But it’s sucking everything! Hold on to something heavy!

They conjured stone walls to anchor their bodies, while the vacuum increased. My heart raced — for an instant, I thought I wouldn’t be able to stop it.

But then, with immense effort, I clenched my fist. The black hole trembled, spun faster... and dissipated in a silent explosion.

The field fell silent. Everyone looked at me as if I were a monster.

The silence after the test was heavy. The dust was still settling when the guild master cleared his throat, trying to appear calm.

W-well... - he wiped the sweat from his forehead. - Nothing serious happened. I think your test is over, kid.

Really? Then can I go? - I asked, trying to hide my exhaustion.

Of course. - he replied, forcing a smile. - There’s an inn near the adventurers’ guild. Go straight, then turn right.

Okay. Thank you very much!

As I walked away, I heard their low voices, almost a whisper.

And now, what will we do...? He’s far too powerful for a child. - murmured the guild master.

True... from what he showed, he’s almost at S-rank level. Imagine when he grows up. - said the guard.

The master remained silent for a few seconds, watching the direction I went.

Right. Let’s wait... ten years. And then, we’ll see what to do with him.

---

And so, ten years passed. Time shaped my skills, my mind and my body. At fourteen years old, I was no longer that defenseless boy who fled his own kingdom. Now... I was ready for much more.

The guild master called me to talk about a very important mission, I went quickly so as not to be late and when I arrived there I came across the guild master Relion and a beautiful girl with black hair and red eyes, similar to mine.

Well, you arrived, Ray!

Hello, Mr. Relion, how are you?

Well, as you can see I’m perfectly fine thanks to your healing magic a few weeks ago.

I’m glad to hear that, sir, and by any chance, who would this young lady be?

Ah, forgive me for not introducing you, this is Rina, the princess of the kingdom of Arcelor, Rina Von Arcelor.

She was a somewhat strange girl for a princess, and the kingdom of Arcelor, I had already heard a lot about it in my time as a prince, it was a kingdom highly proclaimed as the kingdom of wisdom.

And what is a princess doing here, sir?

Her kingdom was attacked by the new king of Elseria.

At that moment my eyes widened and my heart raced rapidly, I was so angry that my aura made the surroundings tremble.

Ray!? Calm down, boy!

Ah, forgive me, I just got very irritated when I heard that.

So I will explain the mission.

Hours passed and he explained that the kingdom of Elseria wanted an artifact called “SAGE”, it allows the user to have wisdom about the world and everything in it, but it is also very dangerous if it falls into the wrong hands.

And that’s it, my young man.

And where is this so-called artifact “SAGE”...

Here with me... said Princess Rina

Great. Then I just need to take her safely to her kingdom.

Exactly! - Rina smiled. - When we arrive, I promise I will reward you for this mission.

But something was not right. It was not distrust of the master... but something about the princess herself put me on alert. There was something dangerous about her. I could feel it.

After all, Rina... why didn’t you ask another kingdom for help? - I murmured, frowning. - This place is far too distant.

She took a deep breath, as if weighing every word.

This kingdom is known for sheltering the bravest adventurers of all kingdoms. That’s why I came here.

Even with the explanation, something still felt wrong. Her red eyes watched me attentively, measuring my every reaction. And I knew this mission would be far more complex than it seemed at first glance.

As we walked, my mind couldn’t stop thinking about my kingdom. A new king... without a doubt, Albert and Richard’s doing.

If there is a new king, then my father may be dead... If they had the courage to do that, they will have to face me someday.

Suddenly, Rina spoke, her voice low and shy:

So... what do you like to do in your free time, Ray?

I smiled, trying to break the tense mood.

Well... I like to play with magic.

Her eyes widened, blushing even more.

Ah!... really?

Yes. I love discovering new magic. - I crossed my arms, confident. - Recently, I learned some new feats: massive mana increase, physical enhancement, advanced healing magic... and I even improved my darkness magic.

Rina was left speechless, her red eyes shining with admiration and surprise. It was funny — even being a princess, she seemed genuinely fascinated by the power I commanded.

We grew closer and closer, talking about simple things and, little by little, discovering details that no one else knew. That was when I noticed something curious: she never talked about using magic.

Rina, you... can’t use magic? - I asked, intrigued.

She lowered her gaze, her voice almost a whisper.

I have magic... I just don’t know how to use it.

The gentle, almost sad way she said that made me stop walking.

And what is your magical type?

She took a deep breath before answering:

Temporal magic... but every time I try to use it, everything freezes... and goes back in time. I... can’t control it.

My eyes widened. Temporal magic was extremely rare. A gift that could change the fate of entire kingdoms — and also destroy them, if used without control.

I looked at her with a mix of surprise and respect.

That is one of the most difficult powers that exist... but, if you want, I can help you master it.

Rina lifted her face, surprised, and a glimmer of hope appeared in her eyes.

Deep down, I knew it wouldn’t be easy. Teaching temporal magic was not like teaching how to create a fireball. But... for some reason, I wanted to see her overcome that barrier.
