"I didn't mean to make you feel that way." Laurel quickly said.
"You don't have to act like this in front of me… we are friends, remember," Chris said calmly.
Laurel nodded, fidgeting with her hand. She lowered her gaze, her brows knitted in deep thoughts.
"Where did you grow up?" Chris suddenly asked.
"Huh?" Laurel snapped her head up instantly. "Oh, I was born and raised in the heart of Luxebridge city… my parents died when I was ten, after their death I was sent to the orphanage…" Laurel's voice lowered at the end, lowering her gaze again.
"I'm sorry to hear about that," Chris said, rising to his feet, before walking closer to her.
"It's okay, it has been a long time… I'm afraid I don't remember what they look like anymore." She said, her throat constricting with emotions.
