So much noise. Lights everywhere—too bright, too fast—blurring into nothing as they stretch into the distance.
What have I done?
My chest tightens. Each breath feels shallow, forced. Should I call the cops… or will they come anyway?
"Bitch, what have you done?" Melissa screams, shoving me hard.
"I didn't do anything."
She drops to her knees beside Christopher. "Shut up, Kelly," she sobs. "Just look at you. Why do you have a knife? You're covered in blood."
I look down.
My hands are stained crimson, slick and trembling. The knife is still clutched in my grip, sharp and unmistakably real. Blood has always terrified me—it's been my worst fear. My vision swims as I notice small cuts along my skin, but I can't tell anymore if the blood belongs to him… or to me.
The chaos explodes around us.
People scream. Shout. Run. Someone cries out my name. Bodyguards push through the crowd, surrounding Christopher, blocking him from view. Everything moves so fast, yet I stand frozen—as if I've been ripped out of my own body.
Inside, panic claws at me.
The noise grows louder, heavier, until it suddenly collapses into darkness.
I black out, voices still echoing in my ears—until even they disappear, leaving behind a deafening silence.
