Chapter 5 - Chapter Five : Roar Again

Sonny's voice was calm, but it carried weigh.. care, history, and a quiet ache.

"Hoon… I can tell you've been struggling ever since we got divorced. But you still mean something to me. You really do. And I don't want you living like this."

She paused, her gaze steady.

"This mess… it needs to be fixed. It needs to stop. That's why I'm here.. to hear you out."

Sunghoon's heart clenched painfully in his chest. He had always worn his pain like armor, carefully layered, carefully hidden.. but she saw through it as easily as she always had. Her words cracked the mask wide open.

He swallowed, tightening his hold on her hands as if grounding himself.

"I… I don't even know where to start," he admitted, his voice breaking despite his effort to stay composed.

"Everything feels so messed up."

She nodded gently, encouraging him without pressure.

He inhaled deeply, as though bracing himself against a storm inside his chest.

"I feel…" His voice faltered.

"I feel lost without you. Completely lost. Empty."

His eyes shut tightly, pain etched across his features.

"I tried to move on. Tried to distract myself. Work, friends, hobbies… but everything felt hollow. Meaningless. Nothing could fill the space you left behind."

When he opened his eyes again, they met hers.. raw, unguarded.

"I miss you," he whispered.

"I miss waking up next to you. Cooking together. Laughing. Even arguing… and making up afterward."

His grip tightened slightly, fear flickering through him.

"I miss us. I miss everything we were."

Sonny listened, her heart heavy but steady.

"Okay… I understand," she said softly.

"But Hoon… words aren't enough anymore. Actions have to follow. Decisions have to be made."

A small smile curved her lips.

"I know my Hoon. Strong. Stubborn."

Her eyes searched his.

"So tell me… what does my Hoon want?"

He stared at her, emotions warring inside him.

"What do I want?" he murmured.

"I want to be happy. I really do."

Then he hesitated.

"But I'm scared. Scared of getting hurt again. Scared of losing you… again."

Sonny didn't look away.

"So you're saying…" she said quietly, carefully,

"You want to win me again? To bring us back? To be married again?"

His heart thundered.

"Yes," he answered instantly.

"I want us back. I want you. I want our marriage again."

He squeezed her hands, desperation and determination burning in his eyes.

"I want another chance. I want to prove I can be the man you deserve."

Her voice rose with fire and warmth.

"Then act on it, baby. Prove it. Fight for us."

Something ignited inside him.. something fierce, something alive.

"I will," he vowed.

"I'll do everything it takes to win you back."

He leaned closer, intensity radiating from him.

"I'll fight. I'll change. I'll show you my love never faded. That all I want… is to stand beside you again."

Sonny smiled softly and reached up, her fingers sliding into his hair.

"Yes…"

She stroked it gently, familiarly.

"Do it, baby," she whispered.

"Roar like a tiger again, my Hoon."

Confidence surged through him at her touch.

"I will," he said, voice strong now.

"I'll roar again. I'll remind the world.. and you.. who I am."

He cupped her face tenderly, his eyes burning with resolve.

"You're worth fighting for. And I won't give up."

Sonny met his gaze, unwavering.

"I'm waiting, baby," she said quietly.

"I'll keep waiting."
