Chapter 4 - Awaking of The Demon

After that, later that night, when it was already dark, I—the loser that I am—was doing the only thing I could do best… physical exercise.

From a hundred to a thousand push-ups.

My chest muscles were in agonizing pain, but I still kept going. Then I moved on to another exercise, one meant to harden my fists. Frustrated with my life, I started punching the world with all my might. I punched until blood started flowing from my fists. With the last powerful blow, I collapsed to the ground.

At that moment, I felt completely helpless.

Because I had no spiritual meridians, I couldn't cultivate qi, mana, Kai, or spiritual energy—nothing. There were so many paths in this world, yet I couldn't walk a single one of them. Unknowingly, tears began to fall from my eyes. Looking up in frustration, I shouted, "Every day I train for eight freaking hours! Straight! Even if I get stronger, I'm nowhere near my goal… exploring this world with Ming. This damn fate of mine! Why am I so unlucky?"

At that exact moment, someone burst through the door. It was none other than Ming, looking extremely happy. In a joyful voice, he shouted, "Brother Hao, I've reached the second le—"

He stopped mid-sentence when he saw my state.

His expression changed instantly. Panic filled his face as he rushed over. "Brother Hao! What did you do?! Your fists are bleeding!"

I didn't react. I looked at him with an awed gaze and asked, "Did you reach Mana Circle Level 2?"

He nodded. "Yes, but that's not the point!"

Hearing that, I became absolutely overjoyed. I jumped up and pulled him into a tight hug. "Very good! Very good!"

Two weeks ago, I had accidentally come across a mana cultivation book. I had given it to Ming, knowing I couldn't cultivate it—but he could. Remembering that, I smiled proudly.

Letting go, I said, "Wait here a minute. I'll go to the supermarket and bring some food. You deserve it."

As I turned to leave, he grabbed my bleeding hand. He tore a piece of his clothes and wrapped it around my fist. "First, stop the bleeding. And before you say anything—this is just an old cloth. I already have new clothes, so don't worry."

I stood silent for a moment, then raised an eyebrow. "Okay… but I hope this is just friendly or brotherly love. Not that kind of love, you know. I'm not gay."

Ming froze.

He stared at me with a horrified expression. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

Bam!

He kicked me out.

Scratching the back of my head, I laughed. "This kid…" Then I headed toward the nearby supermarket to buy some food.

On my way back, I suddenly noticed something glowing far away in the park. Curious, I slowly approached the glowing spot. There was nothing there except a single book. I picked it up, and when I saw the cover, my mind froze and my breathing grew heavy.

Ultima Zhonpe — The Path Toward Infinite Possibilities.

Just as I was about to rejoice, I heard screams from afar. My head snapped up. The sound was coming from the orphanage.

I started running.

When I arrived, the entire orphanage was burning. Many injured children were crying outside. The book slipped from my hands when I realized Ming was nowhere to be seen. A child approached me, crying. "Big brother… Brother Ming… he saved all of us, but… but…"

The child pointed toward the burning building. "It was Lu Huang's father and his men."

I heard everything, yet I couldn't react. My knees slammed into the ground. Tears streamed down my face as I screamed, "Why?! Ming, you promised me we'd see the explore the world together!

Then Pure rage boiled inside me. Blood tears flowed from my eyes. "Sho Huang… I will wipe you all out!

Suddenly, a demonic laughter echoed from within me. "You want power, right? You want revenge. I can give you power… but on one condition. After your revenge is complete, this body will belong to me."

I didn't hesitate. "Even if I have to sacrifice everything, I'll do it."

"Very well," the voice replied.

A terrifying demonic aura erupted around me. Power surged through my body. New spiritual roots were born—but the process was hellish. It felt like countless needles were piercing every part of my body.

The scene shifted.

Inside Sho Huang's mansion, he was meditating when terrified screams echoed outside. He opened his eyes—and there I stood, holding the severed head of one of his men. Outside, the streets were soaked in blood. Then the scene shifts a few minutes ago when i arrived outside i alone fought them all tearing their bodies like papers.

Sho Huang looked at me calmly. "Should I be impressed… or terrified? Kid, they're nothing compared to—"

I punched him before he could finish.

He went flying, crashing through the wall. A fierce battle followed. He shouted thunder spell seven grand strike and a Barrage of thunderstrikes at me from the sky and i was sent flying. At first, he overwhelmed me, but in the end… I killed him. With a demonic skill called the Palm of the devil and then from the sky a massive Red Hand was falling towards him and seeing that he gave his full power and all mana in a spell called the divine thunder all annihilation level 4! And a massive Collusion happened, But that spell wasn't enough and just like that the most feared gang leader of the district gets send in the afterlife.

After that The demonic voice laughed. "I kept my word. Now it's your turn."

I let him take control.

My consciousness sank into a deep, ocean-like abyss. As I kept sinking, I heard a familiar voice. "Don't give up, Brother Hao."

My eyes snapped open.

We fought for control. Through sheer will, I reclaimed my body. I crawled out of the wreckage, broken and shaking.

Inside the mansion, Lu Huang was hiding in a corner, staring at the destruction with terror and hatred as I disappeared into the night...
