Chapter 24 - Chapter 24 – The Allure of a Peerless Beauty

All day long, Guan Xing had been thinking about how to bring up the topic with Sun Yiran at home. Such a seductive and enchanting woman, suddenly offering herself to be his wife—this kind of overwhelming fortune was enough to make anyone uneasy.

From her heartbreak and despair the night before, to her gentle, affectionate warmth that morning, Guan Xing could tell that this woman must have suffered a devastating blow. Her heart had gone cold, her mind in turmoil, to the point where she no longer knew what she was doing.

When he got home after work, he resolved to talk to her properly and try to comfort her.

The rich aroma of home-cooked dishes, carrying a pure and comforting warmth, filled Guan Xing's senses. The feeling of family seeped straight into his heart. Living alone for so many years, he had never realized that deep down, he longed so much for the warmth of a home.

"Hubby, you're back. Tired?"As expected, Sun Yiran drifted out of the kitchen like a willow in the breeze. She had changed into a simple pair of knee-length shorts, revealing her long, fair legs, hinting at a quiet springtime allure. Her fitted shirt could barely contain her full, proud curves—though he had never personally verified it, she could easily rival Hua Rubing in that regard.

With gentle tenderness and the docility of a housewife, she handed him slippers, her smile carrying a uniquely feminine care. "Dinner will be ready soon. Go wash your hands and we can eat. I made my specialty—three-delicacy soup. You'll love it."

The words Guan Xing wanted to say were instantly swallowed back. Looking at her blushing, delicate face and the affectionate way she gazed at him, he found it impossible to tell her to leave.

After changing his shoes, Guan Xing went into the washroom. Gritting his teeth, he adjusted his expression in the mirror. A layer of cold resolve settled over him. He made up his mind—after dinner, he would say it. He had saved her, yes, but he would never demand repayment with her body.

When he came out, the table was already set with several delicate dishes and a large pot of fragrant soup, red and golden hues intertwining. Sun Yiran was placing the chopsticks. Hearing him, she turned her head and called sweetly, "Hubby, it's ready. Come eat and try my cooking."

She was far too familiar, treating a near stranger with such devotion. If an outsider walked in, they would truly believe she was his wife.

Guan Xing sat down, but didn't pick up his chopsticks. He simply stared at the beautiful woman before him. Swallowing hard, he knew he had to speak.

"Um… Miss Sun, are you alright?"She looked healthy, clear-eyed, not mentally unstable at all. Yet she was calling him her husband so casually—wasn't that too much?

As if she knew what he was about to ask, a trace of sorrow gathered in Sun Yiran's eyes. Her seductive gaze trembled weakly, tears quietly welling up. She knew this dream would soon end, just like all her previous beautiful dreams—always waking too quickly.

She forced a smile. Her tear-streaked face was still breathtakingly alluring. "Guan Xing, I don't really know you. But you saved me three times. I sincerely want to be your woman. Even if it's just as a lover, as a woman you keep hidden away—I'm willing."

Guan Xing wasn't surprised. He smiled gently and said, "Can you tell me your story?"

"My rented place is in Biyuan… but Shui Biyuan. The first time, I was drunk. I was in pain. To survive, I had to sell myself. You might think I'm cheap, but I'm just a woman with no one to rely on. If I wanted to rise above my circumstances, I had to seize every chance."

"The driver misunderstood and took me to Tian Biyuan. When I woke up the next morning, I was terrified—and also felt lucky. I didn't even dare look carefully at the place before running away."

She spoke as if telling a story, but Guan Xing knew it was all real.

Her expression drifted back to that night, full of resentment and sorrow.

"I'm an investment manager at Qingfeng Pharmaceuticals under Huaxia Group. Five years of struggle brought me to that position. I gave more than anyone else. I thought my life was finally stable, that I could live comfortably as a white-collar professional. But for a ten-billion-yuan investment, I had to trade my body. All my efforts depended on it."

"That night, I drank desperately, hoping to drink myself into oblivion. Ten billion… my body was worth that much." She smiled bitterly. In the eyes of the rich, women like her were merely commodities. Ten billion was enough to tempt anyone.

"When I woke up and realized I was still in the same bed, unharmed, it felt unreal. I hadn't lost myself. I cried—but I didn't even know why. I had chosen it myself. I shouldn't have regretted it."

She spoke with complete honesty, laying her past bare before him.

"But I did regret it. Truly. I realized I couldn't do it. Like someone who tries to die—after surviving once, they don't dare try again. I'm not brave. So I gave up everything, even my dreams."

"When I tried to leave, I found myself back here again. Three rescues—I know this is the path heaven chose for me. Guan Xing, let me be your woman. My soul may have been tainted, but my body is still clean."

That was Sun Yiran's entire story. Guan Xing had already guessed most of it, but he hadn't expected that Huaxia Group would sink so low as to sacrifice a woman's dignity for investment.

"Life has many paths," Guan Xing said calmly. "You can choose your own. Saving you was just chance. I don't expect repayment. Miss Sun, life rises and falls like the tide. Who can say you won't rise again tomorrow?"

In truth, Huaxia owed her. No matter what, Guan Xing was still a man of the Guan family—that would never change.

Sun Yiran smiled softly. "Thank you. But I'm tired—truly tired. I just want a good man, a place to belong, a simple life. I don't want to struggle anymore."

"People say I'm naturally seductive, a bed companion of rare quality. Finding someone to keep me wouldn't be hard. If you don't want me, I can find someone else."

It was a threat—but also the truth. A woman like her would never lack admirers.

The wounded look in her eyes, mixed with unspoken temptation, made Guan Xing sigh helplessly. She was dangerously alluring. He had saved her three times—letting go now seemed impossible.

"I'm not a good man either," Guan Xing said softly.

"It's hard to find good men among men," she replied. "But I slept here for three days without being touched—that alone surprised me. You may not know, but the only thing I've ever had confidence in is my body. My beauty has never failed me."

She laughed softly, covering her mouth. Tears still lingered, yet her face glowed with even more seductive charm.

Guan Xing laughed too, finally lifting his head to appreciate her beauty. Since she had chosen this path without regret, why should he refuse? Letting such a woman go to another man—he would regret that even more.

"Alright. Let's eat. You can stay here. Having a woman at home isn't a bad thing."

His cold expression softened into warmth, making Sun Yiran tremble with excitement.

"Really? I can stay? You won't drive me away?"

"Of course not. Stay as long as you want."

"Thank you… thank you, Guan Xing. My husband. I'm willing—willing to stay here for life."

Whether it was a promise to him or a vow to herself, she suddenly embraced him tightly, even more fervently than before.

"I knew you'd agree. Look, I already brought all my things. If you didn't want me, I'd have nowhere to go."

Everything had been arranged from the start. She had never intended to leave. Guan Xing knew he hadn't escaped her fragrant temptation.

Seeing the awkward look on his face, Sun Yiran laughed—a soft, alluring laugh. She leaned close and kissed his cheek.

"Don't worry, hubby. I'll be good—your wife, your lover. Oh, and I spent all my money today. Starting tomorrow, you'll have to give me living expenses. From now on, Yiran will rely entirely on you."
