Chapter 1 - Chapter 00; Dreams into reality

Life in Africa is fun, that is, if you are financially stable. One can say that money is needed in Africa more than anywhere else. Formal education is also done in a whole different manner. Most, like Tito, dream about moving out of the continent, for it is believed that once you get there, you are assured a better life. This also lures them into believing that only the best of the best ever get to go there, which is true.

Tito did everything possible, wrote countless scholarship application letters, but none were to any avail. At least it was until a letter arrived one day as he went to send yet another. It had the England stamp on it, and the last time he remembered writing to England was two years ago, so he didn't get his hopes up. Huge smiles appeared on the faces of both him and his mom as the letter said he had been accepted into Range High School in Washington. There wasn't enough time to prepare, as stated in the letter, if he approves, he would be picked on 27th December, which was tomorrow. His mom, Jennifer, did her best and gathered for him some clothes, money, and a few foodstuffs she thought he might need.

"My son, this is an opportunity that the almighty Himself is giving you... You know to get this opportunity is once in a blue moon, so as you go, may He lead you in everything you do and put Him first in everything you do, for the Bible says, seek first the kingdom of God..."

'And all other things shall be given unto you, he added. " Don't worry, mama, I will make you proud"

With that, he left for the port where he was picked up by a boat and taken to England. As he approached the land, he couldn't resist smiling; little did he know about what awaited him...
