Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 The Slam Dunk Master

Chapter 8 The Slam Dunk Master

Two hours later, Shi Lin and Shi An rushed to the Notting Restaurant, afraid that if they were late, all the drinks would be sold out.

"Isn't this young master Shi? Please come in. What would you like to eat today?" The innkeeper's face instantly lit up with an extremely warm smile when he saw Shi Lin.

After all, there are only a handful of wealthy families around Notting City. If he can't even recognize them all, how can he make any money?

"You're too kind, shopkeeper. I heard that you recently received several jars of century-old spirit beast wine made from pitcher plants, and I'd like to buy some," Shi Lin said with a smile, clasping his hands in a fist salute to the shopkeeper.

Although Shi Lin was only six years old, the shopkeeper dared not neglect him, after all, Shi Lin had Shi Zhen behind him.

"We've already sold quite a few, but there are still a few jars left. Since Young Master Shi Lin has asked, I won't hold back anymore. I'll give them to you at cost price, eight gold soul coins per jar!" the shopkeeper said generously.

The shopkeeper was also puzzled. He had tasted the wine before, and to be honest, it was the worst wine he had ever drunk in his life. To say it was unpalatable was an understatement.

However, since Shi Lin has come to buy them, it's a good time to sell them all, so they don't sit here looking at them and cause us distress, since the cost of these things is not low.

"Then thank you very much, shopkeeper." Shi Lin also showed a bright smile. Although it was eight gold soul coins a jar, and the shopkeeper could make a lot of money, Shi Lin was too young, and if he bargained too much, it would easily attract the attention of others.

The waiter next to the shopkeeper saw the shopkeeper's gesture and quickly ran to the backyard to start moving the wine.

Soon, the waiter, along with several other waiters, brought six jars of wine from the backyard to the counter.

"Shopkeeper, we've brought them all out, there are only six jars left," the waiter said to the shopkeeper, panting heavily.

The shopkeeper secretly glanced at Shi Lin's expression and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Shi Lin was not flustered at all.

Kids this young often steal money from home to buy alcohol here, but they usually look nervous. Judging from Shi Lin's expression, it's probably not stolen money.

"Young Master Shi Lin, one jar of wine costs eight gold soul coins, six jars will cost a total of fifty gold soul coins!" The shopkeeper revealed a sly smile.

"Shopkeeper, forty gold soul coins, please. I didn't bring that many this time." Shi Lin glanced at the shopkeeper, thinking, "Trying to fool me? Taking advantage of my young age?"

After hearing Shi Lin's words, the shopkeeper was still thinking of making excuses.

But Shi Lin snorted and waved at Shi An.

Shi An instantly understood Shi Lin's meaning. He stepped forward and looked at the shopkeeper with an unfriendly expression. Although Shi An only had a cultivation level of a dozen or so, his burly figure gave people great pressure.

The shopkeeper was so frightened by Shi An's appearance that he took two steps back.

"Alright, alright! Young Master Shi Lin, forty gold soul coins! Forty gold soul coins!" The shopkeeper was also startled and stopped haggling, agreeing to the deal for forty gold soul coins.

Even with just forty gold soul coins, the shopkeeper could still make a considerable profit.

"Then thank you very much, shopkeeper." Shi Lin patted Shi An's arm, walked up to the shopkeeper with a big smile, and smiled at the shopkeeper.

Then Shi Lin took out forty gold soul coins and placed them on the counter.

"Brother An, move the wine!" Shi Lin said to Shi An, and then the two of them began to move the wine jars one by one into the carriage.

Shijia Village is not close to Notting City, so it will take until almost evening to get home, so I need to hurry.

Just then, a middle-aged man with facial paralysis, wearing a gray robe and a cotton hat, walked in from outside.

"Shopkeeper, do you still have any of your Nepenthes Wine?" the middle-aged man asked the shopkeeper in a hoarse voice.

"I'm sorry, they've all been sold out." The shopkeeper apologized sincerely to the middle-aged man, his tone gentle and so mild that it was impossible for him to get angry.

Although the shopkeeper hadn't seen this middle-aged man much, he could tell from his demeanor that he was no ordinary person, so he spoke to him very politely.

However, the shopkeeper was also thinking to himself, "It's really strange that people are scrambling to buy such terrible drinks today."

"Who bought it?" The middle-aged man was clearly taken aback for a moment, then asked the shopkeeper with a blank expression.

"Look, this is the young man!" The shopkeeper pointed to Shi Lin, who was carrying wine.

The middle-aged man immediately came up to Shi Lin and stopped him from carrying the drinks.

"Young man, can you sell me the drinks you have?" the middle-aged man said to Shi Lin in a flat, hoarse voice.

Shi Lin looked the middle-aged man up and down, and looking at his expressionless face, a name suddenly popped into his mind.

Grandmaster! Yu Xiaogang!

Although Shi Lin was born in Notting City, he never really intended to become Yu Xiaogang's apprentice.

Moreover, Shi Lin never expected to run into Yu Xiaogang here today.

"Sorry, sir, I also need this drink, so I can't sell it to you." Shi Lin didn't say anything too offensive to Yu Xiaogang, after all, Yu Xiaogang was still teaching at Notting Junior Academy, and they would run into each other again in the future.

After all, we're from the same Academy, so we should give him some face.

"No, no, I need this wine urgently too! Sell me a jar!" Yu Xiaogang's gaze suddenly turned cold, and his eyes were filled with anger as he looked at Shi Lin.

Yu Xiaogang's reaction left Shi Lin somewhat bewildered. He hadn't provoked him, so why was he throwing a tantrum?

After arriving at Notting Junior Academy, Yu Xiaogang felt that his future was bleak, so he often drank to numb himself. Hearing that Notting Restaurant had received a new batch of soul beast wines, he came to buy some.

It can be used for personal consumption or for experiments.

Just when he was in a bad mood, Shi Lin rejected him, and Yu Xiaogang's temper flared up instantly.

"My young master said he won't sell!" Shi An put down the wine jar, walked up to Shi Lin, and said coldly to Yu Xiaogang.

"Haha, well, so you've come to bully me too!" Yu Xiaogang glared at Shi An, his eyes blazing with fury, and he even felt an urge to hit him.

He stretched out his palm, trying to summon Luo Sanpao.

"Brother An!" Shi Lin immediately reacted and said to Shi An in an urgent voice.

Shi An reacted instantly.

"First Soul Skill! Giant Rhinoceros Impact! Moo!"

With a bellow, Shi An charged towards Yu Xiaogang like an armored vehicle.

Before Yu Xiaogang could even summon Luo Sanpao, he was knocked away and crashed into the counter.

"Young Master." Shi An turned around and called out to Shi Lin, his voice full of inquiry.

"It's alright, no big problem. Hurry up and load the wine onto the car, let's get out of here!" Shi Lin waved to Shi An and continued moving the wine.

Before long, all the wine and liquor were loaded onto the carriage.

"Shopkeeper, I'm sorry, please consider this gold soul coin as payment for the repair counter." Shi Lin apologized to the shopkeeper and then handed him a gold soul coin.

"Young Master Shi Lin, you're too kind." The shopkeeper scratched his head, looking bewildered, and clasped his hands in a fist salute to Shi Lin.

The losses at the restaurant were minimal, and there was no need to use Gold Soul Coins.

Shi Lin got into the carriage and patted Shi An on the shoulder.

Shi An understood and immediately drove the carriage away from Notting City.

He finally got to Notting City, and before he could even properly explore the city, this happened. Looks like he is having bad luck today, he better head home.
