Korven feels every second of pain but tries to ignore it. If she doesn't envision her previous outing, all of the pain from the last two days, every cut, every bruise would be in vain. Korven's vision goes black before opening her eyes in the dark alleyway where she was just last night. Instead of lying defeated, in a fetal position, she sees herself walking into the broken-down apartment, being let in after repeating a code. Still feeling the pain of her self-inflicted wound, she decides to follow herself, floating through her own memory to see if there is anything she missed, looking at every mould-filled corner of the room. As she looks through each piece of peeling yellow wallpaper, she is again filled with shame. Korven is a miracle-born, a pathetic one, while all other miracles remember their past lives or at least their "noble deaths"; Korven does not. While most miracles are able to activate their abilities with just contact with an item, Korven must bring harm upon herself. While some miracles have the power to melt steel with just a thought, or save others from death, Korven can review her memories, her past failures. She looks back at the memory of herself and into her clueless blue eyes as she sees herself get surrounded by those who knew she didn't belong. As her memory tries to defend herself, Korven takes one final look around the room and notices a man she recognizes but can't seem to remember why. She looks back to see her memories last seconds of her consciousness, and the regret on her face for falling for another trap. In her final seconds of the memory, she notices the man has disappeared. Korven closes her eyes and opens them back where she left off, her desk, an open notebook, and excruciating pain. Pain that she hadn't gotten used to, no matter how many times she had attempted to look back into her memory, just to find nothing of note. But this time, something had caught her attention, and through that she remembered why she does what she does.
"I am Korven, I see through the secrets of Kilder, and it is up to me to cut through them."
She remembers what separates her from the rest of the miracle-born. Where most live lives of luxury, supported by government research and commercial deals. Korven sees through the secrets of Kilder, and for that sole reason, she believes that she must have been put on this earth to put an end to them. She steps up, walking towards her west-facing wall, reminding herself of her ultimate goal.
"Those who use their miracles to live easy lives disgust me, but my disgust towards them is nothing compared to what I feel for…him."
Korven whispers to herself while looking at the one image every red string is attached to. In that image, a blonde, handsome, thirty-something-year-old man. Aldrick Yyelter, aka Father Guardian. Under the image, Korven pasted an excerpt from a recent newspaper.
"Don't let his curly blonde hair distract you, for Aldrick Yyelter is currently under investigation for his connection with the 'cult' known only as 'The Chosen Angels.' Aldrick has refused to make any statement regarding his connection." - Investigative reporter Tynro Runhuld.
Aldrick has been in the media since he was born. His "guardian" miracle, which allows him to save people from injury and even death, has proven that he is the direct reincarnation of Dorsin II, the 8th king of Yewlin (the nation where Kilder is located). As all school children could tell you, Dorsin ll died heroically laying his life on the line to save his ambushed army, leaving behind no heir. Being his direct reincarnation, combined with his looks, charm, and selfless miracle, Aldrick has had success in every venture he's attempted. Life bumping shoulders with the elite of Kilder seemed not to be enough for Aldrick, as at only 27, he went missing, returning as an alleged cult leader. That's who Korven saw, she's certain. That must mean there was more to the lead than just a dog-fighting ring. Not able to contain her excitement, adrenaline-fueled, Korven punches the image of Aldrick with her left pointer finger extended.

The pain comes back, worse than before and back she is in the same memory she just spectated, this time with a clear goal. She flies back into the building, through the grey concrete wall and looks everywhere for Aldrick. This time, completely ignoring her memory self, she looks everywhere for the breakthrough she's been waiting for. Her heart stops as she sees that the man in that room was, in fact, not Yyelter but a very similar-looking man, the only difference being that this man is missing the cheek scar Aldrick had gained during the years he was missing. Korven's excitement had vanished just as quickly as her pain came back. While staring in disbelief, she notices the impersonator calmly placing a piece of paper onto the floor before walking away. Korven flies over to the paper and, with the last few seconds she has in the memory, reads what's written down.
"Well, hello there, Korven-"
Korven's eyes grow wide from disbelief,
"If you see this, it means you are looking back at your memory and realized you thought you saw me,"
Korven's shocked expression grows,
"Me? Does that mean-"
"Yes, it is me, Father Guardian, I know you don't have all day to read this, so Im going to cut to the chase, if you ever want to learn about the Secrets that Kilder holds, you will meet me, by yourself in this very location tomorrow-"
Korven is shaken back into reality, falling over from shock and pain, dropping onto the papers lining the floor. She stands up, running back to her notebook, writing down exactly what she just read,
"If you ever want to learn about the Secrets that Kilder holds, you will meet me, by yourself, in this very location tomorrow "
Korven looks at her notes and says to herself
"Every ounce of common sense is telling me not to go, but I am Korven. I see through the secrets of Kilder, and it is up to me to cut through them. I must do this."
