The Aureline carried a crew of forty, a diplomatic team of six, and currently, forty-one survivors and the escort group that had been officially registered to deliver them.
The survivors were distributed across the ship's lower decks, each in private cabins that the Association had configured for their specific needs — different species had different environmental requirements, and the Aureline's design accommodated this with the kind of practical consideration that came from decades of diplomatic operation.
