I came back home still thinking about all the mischief I'd created at school.
A small smile tugged at my lips whenever Keifer's red, flustered face flashed in my mind. The poor guy had endured a whole day of teasing, all thanks to me.
I laughed softly to myself.
But then...
Freya and Ella.
Their voices, their argument, their words—everything came crashing back into my conscience.
Was it all really true?
Flashback
I was inside the girls' washroom when I suddenly heard some familiar voices.
My heart skipped a beat.
It was none other than Freya and Ella.
I stayed silent, hidden, listening.
Ella: "Freya, I'm warning you for the last time. Drop this idea of bringing trouble to Section E."
My brows furrowed.
Ella:"What happened in the past is in the past. Right now, Aries and Keifer are maintaining their distance. They're avoiding any kind of interaction."
Freya scoffed.
Ella:"Section E has also stopped getting into fights ever since that new boy came."
Freya laughed lightly—mocking.
Freya:"Ella... what made you think I'd listen to you?"
There it was.
That arrogance.
Freya:"I'm Freya Hidalgo—queen of Section A. I don't take orders from anyone."
I clenched my fists.
Freya:"I don't know why Aries suddenly stopped targeting Section E. Maybe because that new boy is his stepbrother—so he wants to avoid trouble."
She paused, then continued coldly,
Freya:"But I don't share any blood relation with them. So I can do whatever I want."
Ella's voice trembled with anger.
Ella:"And that doesn't give you the right to create misunderstandings between Calix and Mica!"
My breath hitched.
Ella:"You will spread a fake rumor that Mica is cheating on Calix with Yuri. That's wrong, Freya."
Freya clicked her tongue.
Ella:"Calix and Mica love each other. Yuri did nothing. So why are you behaving like this?"
Freya laughed again—sharp and cruel.
Freya:"I can't believe you're making such a fuss over this."
Then, mockingly—
Freya:"Wait... do you still have a crush on Yuri? ...Omg, girl."
Ella snapped.
Ella (shouting):"Freya Hidalgo! You are crossing your limits!"
Freya:"Then first, you stay within yours."
Ella:"Freya—"
Their voices faded.
I realized they had left the washroom.
My heart was pounding as I stepped out slowly, my mind racing.
Freya is deliberately trying to break Section E.
But the question that haunted me was—
How do I stop her?

I sat down on my bed, staring blankly at the wall.
My mind felt empty, yet painfully loud.
Teasing Keifer felt harmless.
Fun.
But this?
This was dangerous.
Suddenly, my phone buzzed.
A message.
From Keifer.
Without even realizing it, I smiled.
Keifer's POV
After all the teasing from Jayden, I finally came back home.
Honestly, I should applaud myself for staying alive after everything that happened since morning. Surviving Section E alone deserved a medal.
I desperately needed a mood-lifter.
Without thinking much, I freshened up and grabbed my phone. Instinctively, my fingers typed the name that always calmed me down.
Jay.
My childhood best friend.
My sunshine.
Keifer:Hey sunshine. Are you free? What are you doing?
Jay : Just got back from school. I'm staring at the ceiling, doing absolutely nothing. What about you?
Keifer:Same. I am... traumatized.
Jay:Why??
I sighed and started typing.
I told her everything—how Jayden had teased me nonstop, how he embarrassed me in front of the whole class, how I was one step away from saying goodbye to school forever.
A few seconds later—
Jay:Omg. My bestie had a tough day at school, huh?
Keifer:Tough?! It was hilarious. I should get an Olympic medal for surviving this.
Jay:LOL. Sadly, I can't give you a medal.
That's when an idea quietly formed in my mind.
Why not ask her out?
My fingers hesitated for a second... then typed.
Keifer:Well... you can give me something else instead of a medal.
Jay:Hmm... why do I feel like something is cooking inside your head?
I laughed.
Typical Jay.
Keifer:Nooo. I'm young. Innocent. Pure. Jay.
Jay:Yeah, yeah. Very innocent—I know....Now tell me, what were you asking?
I took a deep breath.
Keifer:Well...
Jay:I have 5G network and Wi-Fi at home.....No glitches allowed. Spill the tea clearly—no unnecessary pauses.
I smiled at the screen.
Keifer:Okay, okay....Why don't we go for a... friendly dinner tomorrow?
Keifer:Tomorrow's a holiday, so... just you and me.
A pause.
Then—
Jay:Oh... so... it's... just... a friendly date?
My heart skipped.
Keifer: Yeah, yeah. Just a friendly date. Nothing else....Nothing. Nothing.
Jay: Okay, okay. Never mind—I was just teasing you.
I held my breath.
Jay:Of course, I'd love to go on a "friendly date" with you....We haven't eaten together in so long. Let's enjoy tomorrow.
Relief washed over me.
Keifer:Okay! Tomorrow at 11?
Jay: Hmm. And we'll meet at CCD Café.
Keifer: Done!
Jay:Goodnight. See you tomorrow.
Keifer:Goodnight, sunshine.Can't wait to meet you.
I placed my phone aside, my heart lighter than it had been all day.
Tomorrow.

Jay's POV
After talking with Keifer, I found myself giggling quietly.
He was literally complaining to me about all the mischiefs I had created—
as Jayden.
The irony made me laugh even harder.
Poor Keifer... telling me about how I tortured him all day.
I lay back on my bed, staring at the ceiling, still smiling.
"So... tomorrow," I thought.
"A date with Keifer."
The word date made my heart flutter.
I rolled onto my side, hugging my pillow.
I'd have to wear something nice tomorrow—something simple, something me. Not Jayden.
But Jay.
But the smile slowly faded.
Freya.
Section E.
Calix and Mica.
Freya's stunts weren't just harmless drama—they could actually tear people apart.
I couldn't let that happen.
Not to Section E.
Not to Calix and Mica.
Not again.
I clenched my fists softly.
I didn't come back after ten years just to watch everything break.
Tomorrow wasn't just a date.
Tomorrow was also the day I had to start protecting them—
even if it meant risking my own secret.
