Amara's POV
Penelope had quite the reputation in our class.
Her outgoing personality made her popular with most students.
Meanwhile, I was the odd one out - the new girl who didn't belong.
Penelope's desk partner rushed over, pulling her off the floor. "Are you hurt? Want me to walk you to the nurse's office?"
Instead of answering, Penelope stormed toward me. "What's wrong with you? Can't handle a simple joke? I was just taking a peek at your drawing. Didn't even damage it! So why'd you smack me?!"
I stayed in my seat, eyes fixed downward. "That's enough."
"You—!" Her face contorted with rage.
Before she could continue her rant, our teacher entered carrying lesson materials.
The thick tension caught his attention immediately. "What happened here?"
"Amara attacked me out of nowhere!" Penelope wailed.
Our teacher was well aware of the new student situation.
The principal had given explicit instructions: don't hassle this particular student, and definitely don't cross her.
