Digby adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses, and the lenses caught the light with an icy gleam that could make anyone's blood run cold.
"Mr. Kensington, having your entire family gang up on Amara like this—that's not how decent people behave," he stated flatly.
I watched as beads of cold sweat immediately formed on Phineas's forehead. His terror wasn't just because Digby wielded massive financial power.
In the business world, everyone fought using their own skills.
Phineas hadn't climbed to his current position by being a pushover.
But whispers followed Digby about his ties to the underworld. Whatever he decided to pursue, he typically made happen.
The most infamous example was that shipwreck during Victor Conglomerate's executive retreat.
"Mr. Halloway, I didn't mean those words earlier. This is just kids squabbling. Really, it's nothing significant. Let's put it behind us. Why drag it out?" Phineas stammered.
