Amara's POV
A voice rang out from behind the door.
"Open up! Police!"
I didn't hesitate and pulled the door open.
The two "officers" stepped inside and slammed the door shut, their eyes sweeping the room.
When they spotted only Dominic and me, they shared a look, their expressions clearly showing growing contempt.
One of the "officers" flashed what looked like a "police badge" and spoke with fake authority, "Amara, we need to investigate further regarding your assault on a classmate at school. You'll need to come with us to the station."
They seemed to recognize Dominic, and their hesitation told me they were worried about his connections. I suspected they had a different plan that didn't involve him being here.
After considering their options, they chose to masquerade as police.
I glanced at the firmly closed door and let out a laugh. "Isn't this a little disrespectful?"
The two "officers" looked puzzled. "What do you mean?"
