Dominic's POV
Harrison's face turned red with rage. "How did my bloodline produce such a worthless piece of trash like you?"
I gave him a casual shrug. "If you hadn't done what you did, would I even exist? What, did my mother reproduce asexually?"
The moment those words left my mouth, the entire living room went dead silent.
The maid who'd been dusting nearby quickly lightened her footsteps and slipped away into the kitchen.
Harrison snatched up a decorative vase from the nearby table and hurled it straight at me.
I'd seen it coming and stepped aside smoothly.
"You worthless bastard!" Harrison bellowed.
When I saw him getting ready to charge at me and throw punches, I finally uncrossed my legs, got to my feet, and prepared to bolt if necessary.
"That's your only insult. I'm bored of it. Prime effect on me."
Harrison froze in place, breathing hard. "Get out of my sight!"
I'd been hoping he'd say exactly that.
The second I heard it, I spun around to leave.
