Instead of using his formal title "Lord Thorne," Julian bellowed his name outright—a dead giveaway of his rage.
The guards hadn't been able to get through the mob earlier, but the moment Julian stepped down from the bridge, they closed in fast.
Hearing the venom in Julian's tone, they instantly encircled Lucius.
Lucius cast a dismissive, frigid look at the men and let out a derisive laugh. "Nothing but insignificant pawns. They're not worth my time."
The blatant insult made Lord Jasper's face go dark. "We'll see how long that attitude lasts," he bit out.
