Bella's POV
The tension in our main hall was suffocating.
Walking in, I immediately spotted Gideon kneeling stiffly in the center, terror written all over his face.
Richard stood behind him, hands clasped, his face purple with rage. Veins pulsed on his forehead as he stared with eyes so fierce they could have burned holes through steel.
Genevieve sat rigid nearby, her brow furrowed as she shot Gideon an icy look. Her chest rose and fell rapidly—barely containing the fury ready to explode.
Next to Gideon knelt Daisy, completely disheveled and sobbing. Tangled hair stuck to her tear-stained, swollen cheeks, making her look pathetic and ruined.
Her collar gaped open, exposing her neck covered in unmistakable love bites.
Even unmarried, I knew exactly what those marks meant.
I understood the situation instantly but kept my expression neutral as I entered.
The second I stepped inside, a teacup flew straight at my head.
Penny yanked me aside just in time.
