Bella's POV
Victor stood to leave. Richard and Genevieve walked with him all the way to the entrance, only relaxing their posture after his carriage vanished from sight.
Richard's piercing, authoritative stare swept over everyone gathered there, and he snapped, "Everyone, get over here!"
The group trailed behind him, and I noticed Ivy shooting me a worried look. She seemed surprised that my face stayed composed, as though I had no clue why Richard was seething.
Ivy bit her lip and stayed quiet, stepping closer to Genevieve.
When we reached the main hall, Richard fixed me with a blazing glare.
"What exactly did I do wrong?" I held his gaze steadily, my voice challenging.
"Who gave you permission to interfere and contact the authorities? Do you have any idea what catastrophe you've brought on this family? Without Prince Victor stepping in, Kenneth would be dead right now!" Just mentioning it drained all color from Richard's face with fury.
