Bella's POV
I had just turned to head back to the manor when rapid footsteps echoed behind me.
Looking up, I spotted a squad of officers and soldiers charging forward, completely encircling the Bliss Inn.
At their head stood a man in black official robes, his gaze razor-sharp as he barked, "Nobody enters or exits! Everyone inside—out for inspection!"
My pulse quickened, and I instinctively pulled back into the carriage, though my eyes remained locked on the soldiers' movements.
Armed with long spears and radiating alertness, the soldiers sealed off both entrances. The chatter from inside died instantly, leaving an eerie silence.
The doors creaked open slowly. Staff members emerged first, followed by customers whose faces were white with terror.
"Where's your manager?" the officer demanded.
Nervous glances passed between everyone, but no one spoke.
