Bella's POV
Ursula's face darkened as she shot a disapproving look at Genevieve. "Since you admit to spoiling her, then handle her properly. What message does it send when she's constantly weeping and carrying on?"
Genevieve's cheeks burned with shame.
She ducked her head, whispering so quietly I could barely hear, "Yes, Lady Ursula."
Ursula pressed on, "I understand your affection for Ivy, but remember—she must forge her own way eventually. Do you truly believe she can run a household as its mistress while still breaking into tears over trivial matters?"
She exhaled in frustration, "Here at the duke's estate, she has your indulgence and support for everything. But when she joins the Thorne household, tears won't solve her problems."
Someone might assume Ursula was targeting Ivy and Genevieve, but I understood her genuine concern for this family's welfare. She wouldn't invest this much effort in guiding Genevieve otherwise.
