Bella's POV
I arrived within minutes.
I was well aware that Jasper had been punished.
I kept my distance, thinking it had nothing to do with me, never expecting that the consequences would still fall upon me.
As soon as I entered, Ivy's resentful gaze immediately fixed on me.
I shot her an icy glare, and Ivy flinched and shrank back like a startled fawn.
She hid behind Genevieve, her eyes wide with fear.
Genevieve let out a soft sigh and gently patted Ivy's hand in comfort. "There, there. Don't be afraid," she murmured.
I saw Genevieve sigh and pat Ivy's hand comfortingly. She probably thought I had frightened the girl, remembering how brutally I had beaten Gideon. Ivy, pampered since childhood, had likely never witnessed such a thing.
Ivy gave a slight nod, tears welling up in her eyes, too scared to even lift her head.
Jasper was already fuming, and seeing Ivy so terrified only made him angrier.
