Chapter 168 - Chapter 168 Monster Brawl? Lich vs. Ender Dragon!

Recalling Galen Yu's words, the Wandering Mage felt his hair stand on end.

Just how much confidence did it take to say something so bold?

More importantly, the Wandering Mage felt it was the absolute truth.

With the Snow Queen already on Sky Island, one could probably guess who was behind this.

The Twilight Forest had so many bosses—the Hydra, the Ur-Ghast, the Phantom Knight, and more.

Why summon the Lich specifically and not any of the others? It truly was just giving the creature a chance to fight for Galen Yu.

That was the Architect, a being present since the very dawn of Sky Island. Even the Wandering Mage knew little about him.

He belonged to the most mysterious and ancient generation of beings.

Even if countless changes had occurred and his power was likely not even a ten-thousandth of what it once was, for someone at the Lich's level...

Being summoned by him was indeed a massive honor.

After the Ender Crystal exploded, the Ender Dragon's behavior shifted accordingly.

When the Ender Crystals remained intact, it would circle the outer perimeter of the obsidian pillars; once they were destroyed, it began circling the inner side.

The more crystals were destroyed, the more frequently the Ender Dragon would switch between different behavior states.

Sensing the destruction of its crystals, a roar resounded through the air.

Power gathered in the Ender Dragon's mouth before a fireball was spat out.

Dragons possessed both formidable physical bodies and exquisite magic, meaning they could either dive-bomb their enemies or use magical attacks.

The fireball was incredibly fast. Just as it was about to hit Galen Yu, the Lich nearby waved his staff first.

Three Loyal Zombies appeared of their own accord, blocking the attack for him.

Galen Yu didn't need to lift a finger; he only had to watch the Lich cast his spells.

Two colored orbs emerged from the front of the staff and blasted outward. Bang!

They struck the Ender Dragon with pinpoint accuracy, dealing a full thirty points of damage.

"Insane!"

Galen Yu hadn't expected the Lich to be this powerful. He hadn't harbored high hopes for the creature before it was put to use.

He thought just clearing the Ender Crystals would be enough. After all, coming from the Twilight Forest, the Lich's power usually wasn't quite on the level of mods like Ice and Fire.

The summoned zombies couldn't fly, so he assumed the effects of only using staff attacks wouldn't be that great.

But seeing it in person, the Lich was far from as useless as he had imagined.

He even faintly sensed that the Lich's strength had increased slightly, perhaps due to the buff from the Great Wall.

"Roar!"

After circling the obsidian towers, the dragon ignored Galen Yu and locked its sights onto the Lich.

'The Ender Dragon's targeting mechanism should only focus on players. Is it treating the Lich as a player?'

Noticing this subtle change, Galen Yu raised an eyebrow.

Most things were the same as he knew, but the Block World had its own unique details.

This was a good thing for him. Loyal Zombies couldn't block a dive, so having the dragon lock onto the Lich allowed for better offensive output.

Ceasing its bombardment, the Ender Dragon returned to perch above the portal.

Landing on the bedrock structure, it paused for a second before breathing out a purple dragon's breath.

A purple area-of-effect cloud appeared, covering a massive area nearby.

Its effect was similar to a Lingering Potion of Harming, dealing continuous damage to any enemies within its range.

Standing far back, Galen Yu and the Wandering Mage took no damage, but the Lich remained right where he was.

His first-phase shields had all vanished, leaving him unable to resist the Ender Dragon's attack.

The purple dragon's breath continuously dealt damage to him.

"The Lich is so strong! That orb damage is insane!"

"He wasn't this strong when Mark fought him. Can summoned bosses actually be buffed?"

"The stats are definitely strong, but he still has no brains!"

"The biggest drawback is that he only fights on instinct. He's not as flexible as a player's mind."

"He doesn't even know how to dodge damage. No matter how strong he is, the Ender Dragon will wear him down to death!"

"Once the help of the Lich is gone, the Ender Dragon's strength will still be top-tier even if the crystals are gone!"

High health plus high damage reduction, diverse attack patterns, and powerful knockback.

It would be easy for it to send Galen Yu flying straight into the void.

Just as the audience was preparing for a show, the Lich raised his staff again.

His health had dropped by a quarter, but when a shimmering green light flashed, a line suddenly connected a nearby Enderman to the Lich.

The range was only ten blocks, but there were far too many Endermen around for that to matter.

Although the Crisis hadn't taken effect in The End, the Endermen alone were more than enough.

Swoosh! After a brief casting animation, the linked creature vanished into a wisp of white smoke.

The health he had just lost was fully restored. The Lich's status returned to its peak as if he had never lost any health at all!

Even the shields that had disappeared in the first phase reappeared, protecting him safely within.

"Wait, what? His health is full again?"

"What kind of logic is this? He's got no brains, but his stats are just that cracked?"

"He's just face-tanking the dragon's breath! The Ender Dragon can't even touch him!"

"Who the hell can actually beat that? He just sucked himself back to full health?"

"I vaguely remember the Lich having four staves. Back then, God Yu even called the life-draining one a divine artifact?"

"That was the foreshadowing! This really is a total reversal!"

"Even the shields are back. Isn't this just bullying the Ender Dragon?"

The turn of events was so fast that the global audience was caught completely off guard.

He was clearly being whittled down by the Ender Dragon to nearly half health, yet he suddenly filled it all back up?

He was clearly being whittled down by the Ender Dragon to nearly half health, yet he suddenly filled it all back up?

"Normally, each time the Lich heals, it is only by two points."

Galen Yu, however, was well aware of this mechanism.

[SYSTEM: LIFE DRAIN: WHEN THE LICH IS IN HIS FIRST OR SECOND FORM, IF HIS HEALTH IS NOT FULL, HE WILL ABSORB SURROUNDING MONSTERS.]

[SYSTEM: SUCH AS ZOMBIES, SPIDERS, AND ENDERMEN, TO RESTORE HIS OWN HEALTH.]

[SYSTEM: THE ABSORBED MONSTERS WILL DISAPPEAR INTO A WISP OF WHITE SMOKE AFTER THE LICH'S BRIEF CASTING, AND THE LICH WILL RECOVER 2 HEALTH POINTS.]

Back in the Lich Tower, there weren't that many monsters for him to drain.

At most, he would summon his own servants, but any player with half a brain would have dug out the spawners below.

At the very least, they would seal the top floor so the zombies and spiders had no way to come up.

This led to almost everyone in the Twilight Forest forgetting—or simply never knowing—that he had this skill.

But of the four staves, each had its own unique purpose.

Just because it was less effective in the Lich Tower didn't mean the move was useless.

Coming to The End, which was teeming with Endermen, wasn't this the perfect place for it?

"What a broken skill!"

Fries was absolutely stunned.

Boss creatures were inherently slow-witted; that was just how it was.

The Lich was just a skeleton whose brain had long since rotted away. One couldn't expect him to be as clever as a player.

If he were, the boss's difficulty would be completely unreasonable.

Higher-level chunks might be different, but for now, this was the reality.

He too had thought the Lich would die in the dragon's breath, never expecting such a surprise!

"Galen Yu doesn't even need to move. The Ender Dragon is going to die directly at the Lich's hands!"

It was easy to predict that this would be an incredibly relaxed and effortless battle!

Both the Wandering Mage and Galen Yu shared this thought.

The Endermen everywhere were essentially walking health packs for the Lich. It was the equivalent of fighting the Ender Dragon while standing inside a healing fountain.

As long as he wasn't one-shotted, wasn't it a guaranteed win?

But as they continued to watch, something happened that even the audience couldn't have imagined.

"Wait, is there another reversal?!"
